Just remember that you don't actually have to play the card while you do the evo. You can just sub her on when you are about to do a substitution anyway and instantly pause the game again before you continue. You can then sub her off for the player you actually want to use as a substitute and it will count as a game towards her evolution as you only need to use her during the game. So all you have to do is to play one squad battle to score the required goals during one of the stages and that's it.
