Just remember that you don't actually have to play the card while you do the evo. You can just sub her on when you are about to do a substitution anyway and instantly pause the game again before you continue. So all you have to do is to play one squad battle to score the required goals during one of the stages and that's it.

Remember that you don't have to grind squad battles to complete him. You can sub him on during a rivals or champions game and it will count toward the objective. You can even pause the game and sub him on and before the game continues pause again and instantly sub him off for the actual player you want to get to the pitch. That way he'll never play a second, but it still counts as a game played. You'll only have to play a single squad battle in each stage to score the required amount of goals.

If you haven't done all the early SBC's I'd recommend starting from there. Try your best to qualify for the champions as that's where most of the rewards come from. Remember to complete the marquee's matchup SBC every week as well. You can also go to the squad battles and score 50 finesses, 50 Power shots etc to get a jumbo rare player pack from each of them. Check your objectives and play with the lowest difficulty that lets you complete it and try to complete other objectives at the same time as much as possible.

SB's are 4 minutes a half so 8 minutes total plus change so let's say 10 min per game. That's 400 minutes so just under 7 hours. And at least I am using him just in rivals and champions games so he's evolving while I'm playing the game anyway. It's not like you need to play extra on top of that and if you want to do SB's you can combine multiple objectives at once.
