It's a shame, Josef Martinez went from being the best player in MLS to having an ACL tear in 2020 derailing his career, getting tossed out of Atlanta after the chicken and rice episode, was replaced at Miami with Suarez and now he's playing in Canada for a team that still thinks you can only sign one DP. I'm confident that Martinez can bounce back in Montreal, but those days playing alongside Barco, Almiron and Gressel feel like a distant memory.

That was prime Josef Martinez who was destined for a return to Europe (there were talks of him joining Almiron in Newcastle), but that ACL tear in 2020 ruined everything and his ego caught up to his declining quality in 2022 when he had that outburst and threw that catering table in Atlanta's locker room. Unfortunately, that Messi magic that rubbed off onto Robert Taylor didn't reach Martinez and Suarez signed the death warrant on Martinez's stint in Miami.
