FC 24 90 Winter Wildcards Alisson Player Review - Cop or Flop?

Winter Wildcards Alisson is here and everyone is pretty much wondering the same thing, will this item be like the Milinkovic-Savic item we got in FIFA 23…

It's a shame this Alisson isn't priced similarly to it because he's not cheap.

I put Alisson straight into the CDM role in my trusty 4231 team, but did trial him in a CM role too in game, the defensive midfielder role definitely suits him more and it'll become clear why later in this review. I opted for the Anchor chemistry style which allowed him to be 'mostly lengthy'.

The SBC is costing around 575,000 coins at the time of me writing this article, leading to him being heavily downvoted on FUTBIN.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Strength/Aggression, Alisson certainly has a presence in the midfield, with his big build he's able to bully players off the ball with ease - the Bruiser playstyle plays it part.
+ Power Shots, the trait is obviously only a positive if you use this shot type often, If you do you will score some screamers.
+ Passing, the Brazilian distributed quite nicely in general, slotted through some well weighted throughballs and got himself credited with a few assists. 
- Dribbling, this is where he struggled the most, he's not the easiest player to maneuver which was expected given his size and dribbling attributes, he's not the worst dribbling in the world but in comparison to other midfield options this is an area where he comes up short.
- Slow to release the ball, now although I praised his passing earliar, there are times where this Alisson was slow to execute which cost him, this happened both when trying to shoot and pass, he'd sometimes take an age to actually do the action.

If you need a Box to Box CM look elsewhere, but if you're after a CDM then there is a possible discussion, It's hard to justify the price tag though. We do have nearly a month to complete the SBC so there is time to slowly grind it. Team of the Year is just around the corner though and we can surely expect some better midfielder options via SBC around then? So I can't recommend rushing to complete this SBC.
