TOTW 11 Predictions

Last week saw an impressive 17 correct players which if replicated this time around will result in a very strong TOTW. Several SIF’s could be around the corner along with some very strong Premier League options!

Goalkeeper

Anthony Lopes – GK - OVR 83>>86
Ligue 1 was very difficult to select from for TOTW 11 and could have easily been snubbed entirely. The realistic outcome is however that we see two or three from the division. Due to that, I opted to go for Lopes’s second IF after he was named keeper of the week for his penalty save and four other saves in Lyon’s 3-1 win over Metz.

Defenders

Juan Cuadrado – RB - OVR 81>>84
There was a ridiculous amount of RB’s in contention for a spot in TOTW this week but Cuadrado is up there with the best. The Colombian provided both the assists for Juventus’s goals in their 2-1 win over Torino. Gazzetta awarded Cuadrado with the MOTM award and a 7.5. Rule Breaker owners look set to lose a good amount on this one.

James Tavernier – RB - OVR 75>>84
There is a risk associated with this inclusion as Tavernier picked up his first IF in TOTW7. As we progress past the first 10 sides EA tends to be a bit more lenient on SIF’s though and thus with Tavernier scoring once, assisting another and keeping a clean sheet in Rangers 4-0 win I can see the wingback picking up his second increase of the game.

Kieran Trippier – RWB - OVR 83>>85
Although it was Lemar who picked up MOTM from this match I can see the IF going to Trippier instead who on paper looks very strong. The English fullback provided the assists on both Lemar and Llorente’s goals during Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 home win over Valladolid.

Midfielders

Heung Min Son – LM - OVR 87>>88
It was probably the best time possible for Spurs to face Arsenal with the latter seriously struggling for form at the moment while Tottenham continues to excel under Mourinho. As expected it ended up being a routine win for the hosts coming away as 2-0 winners. The usual pair ended up linking together for both goals with Kane and Son both managing one goal and one assist. With the Korean yet to pick up an IF I would expect him to be the one that gets in from this derby match.

Paul Pogba – CDM - OVR 86>>87
Despite going behind in the majority of their matches United still manages to pull results out the bag. They found themselves trailing to West Ham in their most recent fixture before coming back to win 3-1. Pogba scored the first of those three goals with a brilliant striker outside of the area. Rashford who was also among the goal scorers ended up claiming MOTM but with the forward featuring in TOTGS I believe it will give the edge to the Frenchman.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – CM - OVR 85>>87
Lazio continues to chase the European spots in Serie A with a vital three points over Spezia this weekend. Milinkovic-Savic was involved in both their goals, assisting Immobile for the first before scoring one for himself to secure the three points. Gazzetta only gave him a 7 but with it also being MOTM I can see that being enough for his inclusion.

Thomas Muller – CAM - OVR 86>>88
Bayern Munich seems to consistently pick up IF’s despite failing to win matches as of late and it looks as though we are going to see that again after they played out an enthralling 3-3 draw with Leipzig. Muller scored two of the goals and while Coman was MOTM with three assists, due to his TOTGS I doubt that he makes the cut, leaving the door open for the German.

Mohammed Salah – RW - OVR 90>>91
On paper Liverpool hosting Wolves looked to be a difficult fixture for them but that was anything but the case with the reigning champions walking away with a 4-0 win. Seeing as Salah is yet to receive an IF this FIFA I can see his goal and assist being enough for inclusion, especially with him being named MOTM with an 8/10.

Forwards

Wilfried Zaha – ST - OVR 83>>86
There are a lot of players in line for a SIF this weekend and while a lot of the week gaps are questionable when it comes to Zaha and his 6-week gap I am positive about it being enough. Zaha made an instant impact on returning to the Palace side, scoring twice and assisting another during a comfortable 5-1 win over struggling West Brom.

Youssef El Arabi – ST - OVR 78>>84
At this rate, El Arabi is going to have a very good FIFA card come the end of the year. The Moroccan striker has put in some amazing performances for Olympiakos this season with his second hat trick of the campaign being scored on Saturday during their 4-1 home win over Volos, helping to continue his impressive record for the club since joining them in 2019.

Substitutes

Ondrej Kolar – GK - OVR 78>>81
It was the weekend of the Prague derby, made even more important by the fact that whoever ended up winning the match would be top as a result. Slavia was the side to do it and convincingly at that, winning 3-0 away from home. Kolar has an amazing reputation in that division as a keeper, rarely conceding goals. With a penalty save and three other saves to his name during the rivalry match, he remains with just three goals conceded this season from the opening ten matches.

Daniel Munoz – CB - OVR 75>>81
Onto an interesting positional change now with Munoz whose base item is a RB playing well while deployed as CB in Genk’s 4-2 home win over Antwerp. The fact Genk conceded twice will go against him but with two assists to his name he also stands out when looking at defensive options.

Rafinha – CM - OVR 79>>82
As mentioned with Lopes I really struggled with Ligue 1 options this weekend and thus I have another punt with Rafinha. PSG recorded a 3-1 win over Montpellier with both Rafinha and Gueye making it into L’equipes TOTW. Neither are clear cut but with a lot of higher rated midfielders already making the side Rafinha seems more likely to make the side.

Achraf Hakimi – RM - OVR 83>>86
There are huge question marks around this one as EA continues to be unclear on a gap between IF selections. I think it is now safe to say that two weeks will not be enough but three is the gap for Hakimi and in previous FIFA’s that has been enough for selections. Hakimi was named player of the week in Italy for his brace in Inter’s 3-1 win with an 8/10 from Gazzetta.

Ludovic Ajorque – ST - OVR 76>>81
The third and final Ligue 1 player selected is Ajorque. Strasbourg climbed out of the relegation zone in style, managing a 4-0 win away to Nantes. Ajorque was their main player scoring once and assisting another in said win. L’equipe awarded him a 7/10 and with the lack of striker options once again that could well be enough for him.

Krzysztof Piatek – ST - OVR 78>>81
There was a time when Piatek was tipped to reach greatness and while those heights have not been reached, he is still a decent level striker. The Polish forward helped Hertha Berlin come from behind to win 3-1 with a brace. Kicker awarded his effort with a 1.5 rating, amongst the highest this week.

Moussa Marega – ST - OVR 79>>82
After a few clear snubs for the division, I opted to ignore Portugal last week and of course, they finally decided to include Pedro Goncalves when I did so. Onto week 11 and we have another option from the division with Marega. The Porto striker scored twice for them as they went on to beat Tondela 4-3

Reserves

Altay Bayindir – GK - OVR 73>>79
There were a few silver goalkeepers making strong cases for this weeks side but none were better than Bayindir who was unbeatable for Fenebache on Sunday, making a total of seven saves, one of which was a penalty save as they battled towards a 2-0 win despite only having 10 men for the final third.

Mattias Bjarsmyr – CB - OVR 69>>77
With hat tricks dominating this section for numerous weeks now it’s a nice change to be able to include some other options. Bjarsmyr managed to score twice for Goteborg as they beat Sirius 2-0 on the final day of the season.

Silas Wamangituka – RM - OVR 70>>78
There is a lot of hype surrounding a potential silver star item for Wamangituka but I actually feel that he can get into TOTW regardless. With only two hat tricks available to select a brace and a 1.5 from the midfielder puts him right up there in terms of selections. His brace allowed Stuttgart to pick up all three points via a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Jakov Puljic – ST - OVR 66>>75
Jagiellonia played out a seven-goal thriller with Warta Poznan this weekend with the hosts coming out on top with a 4-3 win. Puljic scored three of those four goals, playing a huge role in picking up all three points. One was from the penalty spot which could harm his chances over other options but considering the score, I think he can sneak in.

Mikael Le Bihan – ST - OVR 70>>78
Bihan was snubbed early in the season of his first IF, from which he scored a hat trick but this time around there is far less competition for the positions and the Frenchman also has an assist to his name on top of the three goals, making it an easy decision. Auxerre comfortable beat Niort, scoring six without reply.
