TOTW 26 Predictions

Quite an underwhelming potential TOTW 26 with it practically being Ronaldo or bust via your potential red picks but outside of the obvious there is a central Grifo and cheaper options of both Gravenbech and Torres to consider.

Goalkeeper

Oliver Baumann – GK - OVR 82>>84
For the third time in just six matches Munich have dropped points which in turn is allowing hope for the chasing pack. Hoffenheim were the latest side to take points from Munich via a 1-1 draw. Baumann was named MOTM after making six saves and with a lack of goalkeeping options, especially on the higher end and thus Baumann looks to be the best option by far.

Defenders

Matty Cash – RB - OVR 78>>82
Once again it was the Brazilian, Coutinho who pulled the strings for Aston Villa this weekend but with a recent IF to his name I would expect the IF to go another direction. Matty Cash was also outstanding, providing both a goal and an assist as Villa managed a 3-0 away win over the struggling Leeds.

Matthias Ginter – CB - OVR 84>>87
Gladbach have been rather underwhelming this season and actually find themselves in a slight risk of a relegation battle. A 2-0 home win over Hertha Berlin significantly help them however and with Ginter scoring one of those two goals he is now in line for his second IF of the season.

Conor Coady – CB - OVR 79>>82
I originally wanted to take a punt on Neves this week with the Portuguese midfielder being named MOTM from both of their fixtures this week. With a lack of defensive options available however I simply couldn’t go on to ignore Coady. The Englishman scored the only goal of the game as Wolves went on to beat Everton 1-0.

Midfielders

Ferran Torres – LW - OVR 82>>84
Had Dembele not have already received an IF in recent weeks I feel that his two assists would have been enough for an inclusion this week but with just a 2 week gap he won’t be receiving another IF. I do think that Barcelona will still feature after their 4-0 win though and instead look towards the other wing with Torres scoring twice.

Daniel Parejo – CM - OVR 86>>87
It’s rare for Parejo to go this long into a FIFA without receiving an IF. His rulebreaker card will be his best version throughout the year but those who are happy to overlook his pace will be happy to know that he finally looks set to receive an IF. The Spaniard scored the only goal of the game as Villarreal managed a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Vicenzo Grifo – CAM - OVR 79>>86
Grifo has played a huge role in Frieburg’s success this season as shown by this being his third IF when he inevitably gets included. In terms of FIFA this is going to be the most attractive card with a positional change on the way, making him a centralised option. Grifo scored two of Frieburg’s three goals as they recorded a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg.

Benjamin Bourigeaud – RM - OVR 78>>84
Rennes showed their intentions of securing European football this season with a convincing 4-2 away win over Lyon. Multiple Rennes players made their way into L’equipe’s TOTW, with Terrier, Bourigeaud and Laborde all claiming 8/10’s with both a goal and an assist I feel that Bourigeaud has the upper hand and thus he will be the player making his way into TOTW.

Forwards

Kai Havertz – ST - OVR 84>>86
With Lukaku seemingly not interested in Chelsea his performances have been disappointing. It has given Havertz the chances he needed to show exactly why he was bought though. The German has excelled since operating the lone striker role and continues to develop into a crucial part of the Chelsea side. He claimed MOTM in both Chelsea fixtures this week, scoring once and assisting another in the first before scoring the only goal of the game in the second.

Cristiano Ronaldo – ST - OVR 91>>93
Ronaldo has received a lot of stick at times during his return to Manchester with many questioning whether or not the decision to resign the legend was a good one after all. He answered his critics in Ronaldoesq fashion this weekend though, scoring all three of their goals as they recorded a 3-2 win at home to Tottenham and in doing so became the all-time highest goal scorer, overtaking Bican’s 805.

Morata – CB - OVR 83>>85
Generally speaking, it was quite a quiet week in terms of options with not a lot of players putting in strong performances. Due to that what would usually be classed as a fringe player now stands a strong chance of being included. Morata scored twice, one of which was from the penalty spot during a 3-1 Juventus win on Saturday. Gazzetta awarded him a 7.5 match rating which should be enough to see him included.

Substitutes

Altay Bayindir – GK - OVR 77>>81
Goalkeepers were once again difficult to predict and although it is rare for a keeper outside of the top 5 divisions to receive an IF sometimes, they are just difficult to ignore. Bayindir is one of those examples after he made a total of nine saves and provided an assist during Fenebache’s 5-2 away win.

Zeki Celik – RB - OVR 79>>82
Quite ironic really but Celik missed out last week after scoring once and assisting another due to not making L’equipe’s TOTW but now that he has made their side, despite not providing anything offensively he is now looking likely to receive an IF. It’s the second prediction consecutively that Celik makes my side, hopefully this time around EA make the same call.

Ryan Gravenberch – CDM - OVR 78>>82
There are some strong Gravenberch cards in this game already but they certainly come at a price too. This should offer a cheaper alternative for those wanting to try his cards out with the Dutchman likely to receive an 82 rated card on Wednesday. That is after he was involved in all three Ajax goals, scoring once and assisting another two during their 3-2 away win over Cambuur.

Juan Camilo Hernandez – RW - OVR 75>>84
Southampton are one of the in-form side in the Premier League currently but Watford came out the blocks fast with Hernandez scoring in both the 14th and 34th minutes of the match to take a two-goal lead. Southampton managed to pull one back but the damage was already done. The position of Hernandez is up for debate but he should make the cut regardless of what EA decide on that front.

Amine Harit – CAM - OVR 75>>81
Ligue 1 offered very few options with the two best picks in Djiku and Benitez both being unavailable for selection due to recent inclusions in EA promo’s. Harit is one of the fringe players this week but with EA likely to include at least a couple from Ligue 1 that does increase his chances. The Moroccan scored once and assisted another to claim an 8/10 from L’equipe for his performance in Marseilles 4-1 away win against Brest.

Emil Forsberg – CAM - OVR 81>>84
Leipzig managed a convincing 6-1 win away at Furth this weekend with Angelino, Nkunku and Forsberg all excelling. With Angelino claiming a 2 from Kicker compared to a 1.5 from both the latter is likely narrowing it down to two. Forsberg then played a deeper role which leads me to opt for the Swede. With a goal, two assists and a 1.5 from CAM Forsberg would get into almost every TOTW going.

Deniz Undav – ST - OVR 69>>81
Undav has been on the fringe of his SIF on numerous occasions but it finally looks as though he will be included by EA in the upcoming side. The German has played a crucial role in Gilloise’s shock push for the title. His three goals this weekend took him up to 24 for the season which in just 30 games is something to shout about. At just 25 years of age, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him linked with some big names in the summer.

Reserves

Neco Williams – RB - OVR 68>>77
Since making the move on loan from Liverpool Williams has hit the ground running, putting in numerous brilliant performances for them. His best perhaps came on Tuesday though, with the Welshman scoring twice during their 5-1 win over Swansea.

Pedro Henrique – RM - OVR 71>>78
A 92nd minute goal from Henrique secured both Sivasspor’s 3-2 away win alongside the Brazilian’s hat trick. With the performance coming from the RM position, it’s an easy addition to the prediction. This result will hurt Adana more than it helps Sivasspor but nevertheless Henrique will be in.

Florian Flecker – RM - OVR 67>>76
As is always the case the play off matches are often hit and miss when it comes to EA including them, especially on relegation play off matches. They have been used in the past though and with Flecker scoring twice and assisting another two I think it is worth taking the punt on.

Rodrigo Zalazar – CAM - OVR 70>>78
With just seven points separating 1st and 7th place the second division in Germany is one of the best title races in Europe. Schalke currently sit in 5th after their 3-0 win this weekend and have to be one of the favourites to go on and lift the title despite their current position. Zalazar scored once and assisted another two to claim player of the week although is the only slot in the reserves that I am dubious about.

Saido Berahino – ST - OVR 71>>78
It's been a long time since Berahino has been in the headlines for the right reasons. The once highly talented striker has slowly declined over the years, largely down to external behaviour. This weekend he was back at his best though, scoring three and assisting another as Sheffield Wednesday demolished Cambridge 6-0.
