TOTW 2 Predictions FIFA 23

An international break dominates TOTW 2 with a flurry of big names making their way into the prediction. With the worldwide release of FIFA 23 on the 30th dont expect EA to hold back. Headling I have Messi, Van Dijk, Salah and Marquinhos

Kasper Schmiechel - GK - 83 > 85 OVR

7 Saves and clean sheet  /  2-0 Win over France  /  8/10 Match Rating

Usually international keepers are a nightmare when it comes to predicting but this ime around we have two realistic options. The first is Schmiechel who was a crucial part of the Danish upset making a flurry of saves to keep his clean sheet.

Virgil Van Dijk - CB - 90 > 91 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against Belgium  /  7.7 Match Rating

The first of a few potential elite IF’s this week comes with Dutch CB Virgil Van Dijk. The Liverpool defender scored the solitary goal in a big clash between two International powerhouses.

Manuel Akanji - CB - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal and one assist  /  2-1 win against Spain  /  7.8 Match Rating

A shock win for Switzerland over Spain sees Spain knocked off the top of Group A. Akanji dealt the damage early on before then assisting Embolo for the second. Now at Man City, Akanji will likely be a popular option early on in FIFA.

Marquinhos - CB - 88 > 89 OVR

One goal and clean sheet  /  3-0 win against Ghana

Although many are expecting Richarlison, who normally would have been nailed on. With the Brazilian confirmed to feature in the OTW promotion it makes sense to look elsewhere. Marquinhos is also a strong candidate for his goal thus I expect EA to go this route instead.

Mateus Uribe - CM - 81 > 84 OVR

Two assists  /  4-1 win again Guatemala  /  MOTM

With limited options available, International weeks are often a lot more forgiving when it comes to IF’s and thus two assists for Uribe should be enough for an inclusion despite the opposition quality.

Seko Fofana - CM - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal  /  2-1 win against Togo  / MOTM

Potentially an early IF for what was a fan favourite in FIFA 22. Fofana scored one of Ivoary Coasts two goals as they played out a tight encounter with Ghana.

Hirving Lozano - RW - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal  /  1-0 win against Peru  /  MOTM

The match between Peru and Mexico looked destined for a 0-0 draw until Lozano unleased an unstoppable strike from close range in the 85th minute to secure the win for Mexico

Mohamed Salah - RW - 90 > 91 OVR

Two goals  /  3-0 win against Niger  /  MOTM

Another Liverpool plyer likely to get the nod, despite only playing a friendly in Salah. The Egyptian magician was heavily involved in their comfortable win scoring both the first and final goals of the game.

Lionel Messi - RW - 91 > 92 OVR

Two goals  /  3-0 win against Honduras  /  MOTM

What better way to promote the worldwide release of FIFA than with an IF Messi. Although only a friendly with the limited options available, he really does stand out after his brace which included a long range lob sealing a comfortable win for Argentina.

Aleksandar Mitrovic - ST - 78 > 84 OVR – Featured TOTW

Hat trick  /  4-1 win against Sweden  /  9.6 Match Rating

In the past, Mitrovic has been questionable at the top level but this season has seen his form carry over and after impressing in the Premier League he is now doing the same for Serbia.

Olivier Giroud - ST - 82 > 84 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  2-0 win against Austria  /  8/10 Match rating

Giroud is one of the most underrated players of this generation. Now 35 he still continues to play at the top level and after being involved in both French goals on Wednesday he should feature in TOTW 2.

Substitutes

Giorgi Mamardashvili - GK - 77 > 81 OVR

Six saves and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against North Macedonia  /  8.6 Match Rating

A Georgian goalkeeper is not what you would expect from an international week but after a flurry of saves from Mamardashvili on Friday evening, it is likely to be what we see.

Diogo Dalot - RB - 78 > 82 OVR

Two goals and clean sheet  / 4-0 win against Czech Republic  /  9.2 Match Rating

Dalot has seemingly secured the RB role for United this season with some impressive performances early in the season. He has now taken that form to the International stage scoring twice for Portugal during a convincing win, which sees them move into first.

Borna Sosa - LB - 78 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  2-1 win against Denmark  /  7.8 Match Rating

There are several ways we could go with the Croatia IF after two wins for them this week but the safest for me is Sosa. He was named MOTM from the first match after scoring the opener.

Themba Zwane - CAM - 74 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  4-0 win against Sierra Leone  /  MOTM

Although Zwane starts the game as a silver with no FUT champs to think about this weekend there is a chance that one or even two will sneak onto the bench. Zwane was crucial for South Africa, impressing with a brace.

Javier Hernandez - ST - 79 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  3-2 win against SJE  /  8.9 Match Rating

A few domestic fixtures ended up making their way into TOTW 2, with the biggest name being Hernandez. The popular Mexican scored two of Galaxy’s three goals during their five goal thriller.

Michy Batshuayi - ST - 77 > 81 OVR

One goal and one assist  /  2-1 win against Wales  /  7.8 Match Rating

De Bruyne was once again the stand out player but with the Belgian currently featuring in TOTW 1 we have turn to the next best option, that is Batshuayi of whom was also involved in both of Belgiums goals.

Giancomo Raspadori - ST - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  1-0 win against England  /  9/10 Match Rating

Despite coming on late in the game it was still enough time for Raspadori to change the match. Scoring the solitary goal and receiving high match ratings for doing so.
