MattRulebreakers has been confirmed as the next promo to be released in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, and will bring game-changing attributes that will dramatically change the playstyles of the players included.
In FIFA 22, we saw ~40 Rulebreaker cards released via 2 Teams, SBCs & Objectives, with game-breaking early cards such as Luis Suarez and Erling Haaland.

October 17 – Max 86 Icon Upgrade | 78 + Upgrade | Unbreakable SBC
It’s Monday, and we’ve seen a number of big upgrade packs & SBCs released into FIFA 23 alongside the Rulebreakers event.
Unbreakable – Untradeable Mega Pack (35k)
October 17 – Mid Trezeguet & Base Essien Icon SBCs Released
The first Icon SBCs of FIFA 23 have been released, with 89 Trezeguet and 85 Essien.
October 16 – Player Moments Alex Telles SBC
Another Player Moments SBC has been released, and this time it’s Alex Telles, adding to the list of awesome La Liga options we’ve seen released recently.

October 16 – Rulebreakers Team 1 Mini-Release
The Mini-Release for Rulebreakers Team 1 has been announced, with Leon Bailey, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Robertone included.
October 15 – Rulebreakers Alaba Player Pick SBC
The first Rulebreakers Player Pick SBC of FIFA 23 has been released, with David Alaba’s 2 cards to choose from.

What is the Rulebreakers Promo?
Rulebreakers was first introduced in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, after taking the place of the popular Ultimate Scream event.
Rulebreakers focuses on game-changing attribute shifts that transform the styles of play of selected Rulebreaker special items.
Harry Maguire with Pace, Lorenzo Insigne with Physical, Jonjo Shelvey with hair, ⅔ of these outcomes are possible with the Rulebreakers promo, and will create a big shift in the FIFA 23 meta with even more high-level usable players.
Rulebreakers Promo Release Date
Rulebreakers has been officially confirmed for Friday October 14th, following the release of the Rulebreakers Loading Screen.
It’s been heavily rumoured across socials that Rulebreakers could be the first 2 week event of the year, featuring multiple promo teams.
Rulebreakers Predictions & Rumours
Given that Rulebreakers can feature any player in FIFA 23, unlike Ones To Watch & Road To The Knockouts which are limited to specific players and teams, the possibilities are endless!
It’s been rumoured that Cristiano Ronaldo, Wilfried Zaha & Nabil Fekir will be featuring in Rulebreakers this year, however, there is still a lot to be confirmed!
Starting at the bottom, we expect to see some Liga NOS & Eredivisie inclusions given their potential Squad Foundations items that may be arriving soon. Berghuis and Pepe could be good options here, filling gaps in the leagues and offering some interesting stat redistributions.
Moving into the Premier League, a Kieran Trippier card with pace could move the Newcastle captain out of the realms of being SBC fodder to being a sought after RB, RWB or RM, with a wicked cross in his locker.
Marcos Acuña is always someone that we discuss around new promos. With an already well-rounded card, he’s a pace boost away from being a top tier meta LB option, a possibility in the Rulebreakers event.
Also featuring, we have the likes of Sergio Ramos and Paul Pogba, who could both be returning to some sort of former glory with the correct stat distributions during Rulebreakers.
Finishing off our Prediction (aside from rumours), we’ve decided to go with Joshua Kimmich, who with a pace shift, could be made into much more of a demanded commodity in the midfield.
