So I packed Modric and Mandzuckic in my FUT Rivals rewards, both been Croatian I decided to build a squad with them each. I used Modric as the LCM role in a 4-3-3(2) formation. Had instructions and tactics set to default as I wanted to see how he played without me telling him what to do. So far I have played nine games he has contributed 4 goals and 6 assists.
Passing - His passing is as the card says, rarely misses a pass (besides the odd few but I feel every player does this on Fifa 19). What really impressed me is his through balls to the LW ST and RW,perfectly weighted every time and just fly past the oppositions defence straight into the path of my attackers.
Shooting - his shooting in and around the box for me was excellent. He demonstrated this well in my first fut champs game when I was losing 1-0 and he pulled back 2 goals from the edge of the area to win the game for me. Also he has an ability to be in the right place at the right time to receive a pass or to get a shot off.
Dribbling - as the card says it’s amazing but I feel the gameplay doesn’t allow it to be as good as it could be.
Defending - not his strongest point but does seem to put a tackle in every now and again and recovers the ball 80% of the time.
Physical - Physical is Average ,he has the strength but once someone taller then him comes along he loses the ball quite easily. Also he is low stamina by the 60th minute so probably best used as an impact sub.
Luka Modric, the midfield meastro, the magician, the magnifeco! I have used a fair few top rated players so far this year, including KDB and Pogba. Without a shadow of a doubt, I can say that Modric is at the top along with these two beasts. They all excel at being great and well rounded, each with specific assets. KDB is the best for shots, Pogba for Strength, Defending and 5* skills, Modric for Passing and Dribbling. Given the way this FIFA is, Modric feels like the best one. He is able to play an amazing pass or assist from anywhere on the pitch, and is able to dribble around a whole team. He can run for the whole game and is everywhere when you need him. Paired up with Fabihno and Casemeiro for the strength, and feeding balls through to Suarez, Coutihno and Bale. Just. Unbelievable! Would 100% recommend. Check out my team for inspiration if needed. In game I change to 4-2-3-1 and use Modric as the central CAM.
Passing - Any and all types of passes are so accurate and deadly
Positioning - He is everywhere, dictating the play
Stamina - Lasts the whole game.
Shooting - Finesse shots are great as are the long shots and finishing, could be better though
Dribbling - Even though he is weak, he keeps the balls and moves with it with such ease
Well Rounded - One of the most complete midfielders, and one of the best. Top with Pogba for me.
Strength - Can get pushed off easily, but not often thanks to his dribbling and balance.
Heading - Too small.
Pace - Is good, but depends on the type of player you are.
Modric is a fantastic midfielder, I play him left of a 4,3,3 (2). His range of passing is outstanding as expected, short, long and the through balls in behind are amazing. He’s tiny so isn’t winning any headers but his work rate means he get’s in the way defensively, I added anchor to him as all his attacking stats are great and this means he can make the odd interception. I didn’t get him in to score goals but he’s banged in quite a few, especially finesse around the box. Even though he’s small and pretty weak, his reactions, agility and dribbling means he’s great at keeping the ball and he can turn people inside out. For me best thing is how quickly and accurately he passes the ball under pressure as loads of teams try and press you and he seems to be able to make passes through the lines that other players just can't do. I usually have more posession than my opponent so he's perfect for me and for 70k is an absolute steal. His stamina isn't amazing but he can do 90, but not amazing so I often end up subbing him late but it’s never an issue, he’s usually done plenty of damage by then.
Simply the best midfielder I used so far. He is amazing as a CM but he truly shines as a CAM. So smooth, so intelligent. A must pick considering that he is way too cheap for how good he is. Even when he is not assisting or scoring, he is directing the game and you will feel the impact.
-Good shooting in and around the 16m box
-Really good attacking runs to get behind the defense line
Modric is the best midfielder in fifa hands down. His dribbling and passing combo is unreal. His workrates are perfect and he has unreal stamina. Use him now because next fifa he won't be this good. I use him as a cm together with a more defensive player and they make the perfect duo.
