It pains me to say this but Buffon is truly terrible this year. I don´t what it is about him but the amount of times that he let me down over the 40 games that I´ve used him is staggering. He makes so many rookie mistakes that other keepers like Lloris, Handanovic, Courtois would never true. It´s really hard to admit this but Buffons era in terms of FIfa is coming to an end. His reflexes are very poor he will often dive a few seconds after the ball has already passed him. His positioning is truly horrible I seriously don´t understand how his face card stat is 90 since he is already in the wrong position at the wrong time. His kicking sucks hard if you like a keeper who can sometimes feed your other players the ball or even if you only want to make a simple pass to one of your players Buffon is not your guy. Now the final and most important reason why I kicked him out of my team his reaction speed. I can´t tell how many times after a shitty save that pushes the ball right back to the attacker Buffon instead of getting up to and making up for his mistake just stays on the ground like a pushed over cockchafer. Really disappointing to say all of this since he is my favorite keeper IRL.

Right, I’m not here to cause controversy… But Buffon is terrible. It is unbelievable how poor he is compared to other goalkeepers. I have had the same situation over and over with Buffon letting the ball roll by him without an attempt to dive.
The main issue I have though is that the initial save is so good until he palms it straight into the path of another striker. This seems to happen too often and the defence is solid usually. Buffon is not a great choice, I much preferred Areola.
