I was looking for a cheap icon striker to complete my attack and i considered butragueno and Luis hernandez but instead decided on this card as it was only 620k and had really good stats. WOW. This card performed well, i cant remember the exact stats from fut champions but he was part of a team that got 24 wins and felt amazing. He can comfortably finish on either foot, feels pretty quick an agile and can play in both a 2 striker and 1 striker formation however i prefer 4231 as its stronger overall. Im looking forward to buying his prime now and the only bad thing about this card is the 3 star skills and strength(both of which i can personally adjust to and cope with).
So I have been using normal Aguero for the longest time and he has served me amazingly well. Scored 181 goals and 32 assists in 165 games. Accumulated enough coins and decided to try some baby icons. I bought baby Crespo initially and was not impressed at all. He was very stiff and not agile nor quick enough. I quickly sold him and was deciding between 86 Sheva and 88 Owen. Opted for the raw speed of Owen and decided to give him a try. To summarize. He is a good striker, but in many aspects not as good as I thought he would be, given his price tag.
Speed. Even with no extra speed boost he feels electric. If he is up to speed no defender will catch him. I have faced TOTS Ramos/ Varane numerous times and he still manage to outsprint them.
Finesse shots. Even after the patch, he can still score plenty of finesse shots. Shots outside of the box are suprisingly good given his low Longshot stats.
Dribbling. With sniper chem applied, he feels very agile and can move and turn quickly.
Positioning. With the try to beat defensive line trait, he will often make a lot of smart run to try to beat the offside trap. This stat is super useful if you like to counter attack and play through balls down the middle.
Composure. Don't get me wrong. He still scored plenty of goals for me. His record stands at 30 goals and 5 assists over 23 games in FUT champ & rivals. However, when he is under pressure, especially against the challenges from all those elite defenders like campbell, ferdinand,TOTY Ramos, TOTY Van Dijk(whom you will face every game in FUT champ let's be fair),his finishing still frustrates me. Despite having 99 finishing(with Sniper chem applied), he will still miss 3 out of 10 chances where you normally expect elite striker to score. In comparison, I was actually more confident of the gold Aguero scoring when under pressure. If you're clean through and one on one with the keeper, sure you'll score with him. But in tight games where chances are at a premium, he might cost you the game with his misses.
Strength. It is not like I expect him to be strong at the beginning, but sometimes he just feel too weak to lead the line by himself. I play a 4231 formation and he got bullied way too easily by the CBs. You cannot realistically put him at CAM either given his mediocre passing stat, so I guess its best if you pair him up with someone bigger, like Flashback Ibra or Headliner Arnautovic. But if you are like me and only play a lone striker, he will struggle.
Passing. As mentioned, really mediocre passing. Can misplace some simple short passes from time to time.
Price. Lets face it. 470k is a lot of coins to spend on one single player, at least for player like me with a low to mid budget. For that kind of money, I expect to get a player who just can't miss in front of goal. Yes he is quick and agile and still can score you a lot of goals, but I seriously think a gold Aguero at 120k can do the same, just lacking a little bit of speed. However, if you want a cheap icon striker for chemistry reason and you like someone quick and agile, you cannot go wrong with Owen. But I just feel like there are better options out there for the money.
