This guy is an absolute machine!

The way he always takes the right position. The handling. The turning. The physics. It's like EA somehow managed to create his no bullshit attitude on field. Luckily the temper has been nerfed.

I love having this guy on the team.

Positioning

All round good stats

Works great as a CDM

Takes corners like a boss

Also good at front post on corners

Best CDM so far? Prime Keane review
By Mecinho7, 31-12-2018

I completed the sbc for pretty cheap and was extremely happy with it. This card was part of my team that got 24 wins in fut champs and he was a big part of that. He appears everywhere defensively and is always in the right place as a cdm, sitting back and making occasional bursts forward. His stamina is so good and he can last all game easily, he can outstrength strong forwards and has amazing defensive ability. What i found to be surprising was that he didnt feel slow and actually is decent attacking wise, his passing range is amazing. He an also do a job at Cb as i found out in one of my fut champs games when i had to play him there for 45 mins as Campbell was naughty and got a red. I recommend this card to anyone who needs a solid cdm and he performed really well for me.

Good pace for a cdm

not that bad shooting for a defensive player

amazing passing range

feels good on the ball

can do everything defensively

Good physical- amazing stamina

Height maybe and skills/weak foot but it really doesnt matter

Don't sleep on this card!

I never thought of picking up this card until I saw the SBC. I planned on taking the packs and using him for a few weeks while I waited for an end game icon SBC to come out. Long story short, he's an absolute unit at CDM and a starter in my WL squad next to Ballack (Gold 1/2, usually play 20ish games). Check his CDM rating with backbone... 95! and he feels like it. High composure, nearly maxed out defense, high strength , excellent passing. IG he feels fluid and speed is mostly not an issue unless you pull him nto attack. You could play him box to box but the weak foot/skills/shot power could let you down whithout the riight chem style. I've used kante, rijkard, blanc, Pogba IF and I prefer this card. I play him in a 41212 narrow and 4321 in a $10M coing squad. I would only trade him for Vierra or a TOTY/TOTS.

  1. 95 rated CDM with backbone!
  2. Hiigh composure, strength,S/L passing and vision, dribbling, aggression, marking
  3. M/H workrates mixed with high aggression and high stamina
  4. Feels fluid IG
  5. Excellent value
  1. Shorter than I typically like for a CDM (5'11) but I find he makes up for it with other attributes like W/R, jumping, and aggression.
  2. Box to box 3 star week foot and 2 star skills depending on your play style can be limiting. I use LT/RT and fake shots to create space and he holds very well. Not issue as CDM.
  3. Good long shooting on strong foot but shot power needs to be boosted with a chem style to be more effective against better WL players that move keeper. I use as holding CDM and keep him deep so only end up takiing a few shots here and there.

CDM superstar
By Richhain, 29-04-2019

I was playing 4-2-3-1 drop back with Kondogbia and Seedorf with Clarence helping the attack but I got rid of drop back and moved to balanced. This meant that I needed more defensive qualities from the other CDM and Seedorf was causing me issues as he was getting too far forward and missing tackles so I opted for Keane to come in and sort the defensive side out. I would highly recommend him if you are after a CDM as he’s the right work rates meaning he doesn’t get lost forward. However you need to have the right style for him or he will get frustrating.  Even with shadow his pace and acceleration are pretty low as his agility for changing direction so if you want your CDM to constantly press and chase everything then he may not be the one for you. I was chasing everything with Seedorf and at first wasn’t sure Keane was an upgrade but now I don’t run constantly with him he’s much better. If you jockey, time your tackles and don’t press constantly then he is perfect. So I reckon if you play drop back or balanced he’s great but if you play press or fast build up he could be more of an issue.  I did have shadow on him for the pace boost but also backbone which I actually prefer but both work well. His defensive stats are insane so he breaks play up amazingly he can push anyone off the ball and his tackling is fantastic. He’s easily the best CDM I’ve used on the defensive side which is what I hoped and has made a real difference to how sound I am defensively. For me though the huge advantage he has over other CDM’s in the game is his passing. Short passing at 99 with backbone and 92 with shadow is such a great asset especially with his 92 composure as well.  I tend to use him as a deep playmaker and he barely loses the ball, he can hold it up and pick passes out brilliantly and starts lots of attacks for me. If you can handle the lack of pace and have a style that means it isn’t a problem for you then I would get him in and throw backbone on him and you basically end up with a CB with 99 short passing. Got my best ever WL finish after bringing him and Laudrup in who compliment each other really well

A no-nonsense CDM
By JustTobz, 14-01-2019

The best compliment I could give to this card is that I don't notice Keane much when I'm using him, but I do notice when he's not there. I had used the loan card for 20 games and was quite underwhelmed, but once I went back to my old teams I noticed how much less I was winning back possession. I tried a variety of different CDMs but could not get the same result. I then gave in and completed his SBC, and everything felt right again.

I play Keane as a lone CDM in a 4-1-2-1-2(2), and he fits that mould almost perfectly. His interceptions are exceptional (99 with Guardian), and there are so many occasions where he will cut out a pass and control it perfectly (Ball control is 97 with Guardian). This is where Keane shines - winning the ball back quickly, and recycling possession. As you'd expect if you ever saw Keane play, his tackling stats are also superb. His passing is also a pleasant surprise, with him being able to launch counter-attacks fairly effectively.

The question this raises though, is whether that's enough? From a prime icon, you might be expecting more than simply winning the ball back and passing it to a team mate, but sadly this is pretty much the only area where Keane feels like an icon. His attacking stats are pretty mediocre unless boosted, and his height simply isn't enough to be an aerial presence at set-pieces.

My team was missing solidity in the midfield before I had prime Keane, and he has undoubtedly addressed this issue. However, once the option comes to replace him with Prime Vieira or a suitable TOTS player, I will certainly do it.

  • Superb interceptions and ball control
  • High composure
  • Perfect CDM workrates (M/H)
  • Good value SBC (You can always trade him in for another prime icon SBC later on)
  • Height
  • Mediocre attacking stats
  • 3* weak foot
