Unless you are one of those bullshit youtubers that want their CDMs to have Pelé skills you will enjoy this card. Pepe plays a simple and effective game, is not a card that will make you go crazy about it, but if you are decent at playing he will be decent for you.
Im probably not the only one who got access to his first icon through ICON swaps, reading some reviews here I had high expectations. At first playing Guardiola feels amazing. His positioning, his interceptions, decent straightforward passing and no nonsense defending makes him a CDM to be reckoned with. Yet as your team gets better you it is inevitable that Guardiola's weak spots will come to light. His dribbling is really disappointing to the extent that you should really not dribble with him in the box or even in midfield . His finishing if you are the attacking minded player leaves a lot to be desired. basically you cannot count on him to have the last pass if he joins in a tiki-taka . he willl fumble that through ball and you will raise your head to the heavens and ask why. You will get another ICON eventually then start to think "how do I replace Guardiola"
Despite his shortcomings I still consider him a great starter ICON and his spanish origin makes him easy to link up with all the big leagues (excepts perhaps ligue 1)
* Decent passing
*Incredible defensive ability
* Interceptions and Positioning is top notch
* Dont expect much from dribbling
* Not suited to join in attacks and receive the last pass
* overall dissapointing finishing and shooting ability
Well i would like to write this review purely because why not and no one has written a review on here in ages. What can i say he is slow, fat, pretty much on a wheelchair but gets the job done. He is not nearly special but not nearly garbage he is just there in your squad for links. He can defend, pass...ish and thats about it, thats his job but do not play him anywhere else besides CDM he cannot win headers or do anything else, shit value for money do not buy him but if u did him for icon swaps use 451 and put him and LAM and scream ALLI or Phillips at RAM and fb Rooney at ST your welcome
This is a review for FIFA 21, as this game is over.
This player is incredible, he is always well positioned, it is as if he organized the entire midfield, he played 1000 games with him and assured that he would be on my team next year.
If you are looking for someone who is always there to help the defense and connect with the midfield, it is your man.
Use with an anchor and in any formation with more than one midfielder
Sorry for my english
After finishing Icon Swaps fro Roberto Carlos i noticed i could grind a couple more to get Pep. His stats don't look massively appealing but he ended up being all over the pitch destroying opposition attacks. His stamina never runs out and he has an eye for a pass, he would be perfectly paired with a tall powerhouse akin to Sissoko. Great value 9/10 ( would be top marks if he had higher shooting and agility).
So, after seeing Nepenthez going pretty crazy over Pep I thought that he was going to be a great CDM that would be crazy good. But unfortunately he did not live up the hype.
I used a the engine chem style on him due to my playstyle which is very possesion based and tbh I did not like his base cards dribbling stats. I have used him for 1 whole fut champs weekend were I got elite 3, and a whole week in Div 4/3 rivals. So lets get in to the pros and cons.
Pace: Pep is very usefull at chasing down attackers. His pace is probably one if not his most impressive stat. He felt very nice and not stiff at all.
Dribbling: This stat surprised me due to his very decent dribbling ingame. Also because my other CDM is IF Ndidi you could really feel the difference in dribbling.
Passing: Very decent. Nothing to complain about here. I felt very comfortable using him in my build up play.
Defending: I expected so much more from him defensively. His defensive awareness is certainly not 89 which is card suggest. I had to drag him into position almost every attack my opponent had.
Shooting: Non existing, could not even score if the goal was wide open so don´t even bother shooting with Pep.
Physical: His biggets con for sure. His strength and stamina is not very good which is a problem in tough games.
