This is my first review, so it might be a be a bit bad (also sorry for bad english, it's not my first language). I bought this card as I needed a cheap box to box cdm in my weekend league team, and he was just astonishing. His price is really low for his talents, as he feels amazing in game. His dribbling is sensational, and his passing is top notch. His defending and physical stats are a bit low for his position, but if you use anchor, you'll be just fine defensively too. In 34 games for my club (champs and rivals) he scored 11 goals and had 8 assists, but he honestly felt like he was Gullit. He was everywhere, and thanks to him I hit gold 2 for the first time this year (on the hardest weekend in my opinion). Use him on Balanced attack and cover center and you'll be amazed by this card!
This card is absolutely out of this world. I played 10 games with this card in my team. He may not have gotten that many goals or assists but he was an absolute beast in defense. I decided to use him as the core of the 4-3-2-1, just to make sure i get to use him but i honestly think he should be a CDM or a box to box midfielder. He stopped everyone from passing he was more of a rock then the rock himself. Even if someone passed him he would track back and get the ball.
He is a really amazing CM and a solid CDM. His tackling and Def positioning is good and along with the pace makes him a good card. I also like the fact he can dribble but his strength is a little low and I wish it was better. I also wish he had higher finishing because with his high/high work rates he joins the attack, he has good shot power, but his finishing is really low so his shots often go off target. Regardless for what he is needed for he is really good.
I don't normally write reviews but this time I decided Kovacic deserves one. I packed this guy in some random pack and I was so excited to see the Croatian Flag as a Chelsea Fan. His shooting is 79 which looks alright but his in game stats are bad. He will miss most chances. I slapped an anchor on him and used him as a CDM in a 4-2-3-1(2) alongside PIM Gattuso. This guy was EVERYWHERE, I've used 90 IF Kante and Kovacic felt like him, but wayy better on the ball. He was a defensive tank and was also very helpful offensively. His transition play is brilliant. Overall he was an absolute monster in midfield, very well rounded card, he is very versatile and you can play him anywhere. He has a big influence on games and is one of the best coin-for-coin players on this game.
• Dribbling - Great agility, balance, ball control, and 4* skills he can get past anybody without any issues. Also can't be pushed off easily. Only got bodied once during my whole WL by 91 Boateng
• Passing - This guy can pick out passes anywhere on the field with 98 short passing and 91 long passing. 4* weak foot means he can do it pretty well on both feet.
• Defending - After using an anchor, he's got 99 Def. Awareness, 99 Stand Tackle, 97 Interceptions and 91 Slide Tackle. These stats are not a lie and he plays like a defensive beast in game. He bullies Ben Yedder, Kent and Neymar off the ball and even though his strength is a bit on the low side, it's still enough to get the job done and the 99 aggression makes up for it.
Pace - 90 pace with an anchor is enough for a CDM and he can track runs and keep up with attackers easily
Physical - His 99 aggression is really helpful he will stop at nothing to get the ball back. 93 stamina means he can easily last the full 90.
Shooting - His shooting stats are unfortunately quite poor and the 70 finishing is accurate. He will miss most chances even on his strong foot

When the PL TOTS came out I immidietly saw this card as something that I would like to have in my club. Balanced stats, pure B2B with excelent defending and passing atributes, combined with H/H and 93 stamina is just perfect. On thursday I got him in my red picks with Robertson ( like 90% of FIFA population dide ). Then I made the team I have linked. Bought Blanc, Lacazet and put WBY and Hazard on 8 chem for the sake of completing the squad.
The Triangle in the middle is Henderson - Kante - Kovacic. Just wow. Kovacic has those animations that makes him so agile and ''wiggle'' with the ball. You can run past opponents with some simple skill moves like body feint, step overs or a normal heel to heel like he has a rocket up his ass.
As for the defending I find him very capable. Because he has high dribling stats he can easily take control of the ball even when opponent has some sticky players like WBY, Griezmann, Hazard, Messi... etc. Very good in tackles. He has some sort of a weird animation that I saw only on Ramos, where when he makes a slide tackle he scoops the ball and leaves it in his feet, he doesnt deflect the ball. Pure class.
His shooting isnt something what makes him stand out. But with his agile moves and H/H WR he is going to make some good runs to open space. When you enter the 16m box with him, just power shot it. He will make that ball go like a torpedo.
If any other player that has France or other meta nationality has this stats, he would be priced well above 500k coins. 175k-190k for this card is a steal for someone that loves to play narrow, fast paced tactics. Even in delay he feels good.
- Passing, positioning, vision and defending.
He feels very agile and fast. Simple skill moves make him unstoppable.
Heading is his weakest point, but with the state of heading in this game it is just worth to mention.
I packed this guy during lightning rounds on Friday before weekend league and after playing 30 games with him I knew I had to leave a review on this guy. I hover between Gold 2 and Gold 3 player and this guy saved me on multiple occasions (scoring the winning goal to give get me to 14-16). I started off playing him as a left CDM in a 4231 with TOTSSF Ndidi as the holding CDM but then switched to a 41212 narrow with him as a RCM. I've used Seasons Fred and Headliners Wijnaldum this year and i can say he is better than both.This guy is everywhere. He makes perfectly timed delayed runs from outside the box and has enough stamina and pace to recover defensively. He is very agile and can win the ball back due to good tackling (with an anchor) and can turn and make a perfect through ball pass. His dribbling is fantastic and has 4* 4*. He pretty much feels like a better seasons objective Fred. His shooting doesn't look great, but somehow he was able to score 9 and assist 9 (mostly near post goals from inside the box). He did miss a couple of chances that I thought he should have scored, but other than that I have nothing bad to say. He does also get tired quickly if you use pressing tactics or end up going into extra time. If you missed out on getting Fred, or just need a PL CM that can do anything, look at this guy.

First things first, The value per coin for "TOTSSF" Kovacic is phenomenal, I have to honestly say he is the best value centre midfielder i have used coming in at just short of 200k coins at the time of writing. This guy is a juiced up kante, they play similar football and overall act like similar players in game in terms of positioning and presence on the pitch. I had a lot of fun using this card beside kante in a 4-3-3 (4) behind Messi in the "CAM" position. I wanted to compare the two to see how kante's standard gold card would hold up and that is how i came to the conclusion i made in the title. His defensive capabilities were next level honestly in terms of just being able to break up the play and get the ball rolling on the counter attack which brings me to my next point; he is terrible in front of goal kovacic has to be used with defence in mind in fact there would be no issues in playing him over kante in some XI's, just do not have him take a shot!!

Shooting was surprisingly dreadful, even though he has low finishing he failed miserably at putting near guaranteed goals on an bad day completely off target.
I used to have a bundesliga team with my Player moments Kimmich, and my fut birthday bellarabi. Being a chelsea fan, and seeing there were not that many meta players playing for chelsea, the best ones being Storyline Batshuayi and Future Stars Mount, but when this card came out, I was ecstatic. I was ready to sell a couple of my players, buy this card, and use it until the next fifa. But EA was watching, and gave me this card absolutely free in my fut champs rewards. I can tell you, for just under 200k, this card is amazing. Playing him as a CAM is a no for me because of his lower shooting stats, but as a CM or CDM this man is an absolute machine. His dribbling is the standout of the card, but I promise you he will not miss a pass.His defening and physical is very decent, but his shooting is quite low so I would suggest a hawk to also boost his pace and physical.
