Summer Heat Firmino

Lockdown restarting?  I think it is official; the Summer Heat promo has eclipsed every promotion from the past, delivering content, players, objectives and a consistent grind that is keeping the game alive.  I would be lying if I didn’t say that I was praying for a Bobby Firmino upgrade, and man was it worth the wait.  I realize that staying impartial when using an in real life favorite is important and so I was focused on letting the results do the talking this weekend.  In the end, 36 goals and 8 assists in 20 matches speak volumes for the quality and potency of this card.  The 21 matches in the picture are because for the fourth weekend in a row I was dealt a D/C, and if you follow me on Twitter @IVIaeday you will know that it actually cost me a devastating first match loss this time around.  But, the fact that Firmino turned out to be a fantastic card was able to mask the pain and I actually quite enjoyed the WL grind overall.  To get the full Bobby Firmino effect I went for the ENGINE chemistry style and played Firmino as the Right ST in the 4-4-2 formation.  It was no doubt that Bobby brought the Brazilian flair all weekend in the following squad:

Rating: 9.7/10
Pace Rating: 9.5/10
Dribbling Rating: 9.9/10
Shooting Rating: 9.9/10
Passing Rating: 9.5/10
Physical Rating: 9.9/10

Bobby “Goal Machine” Firmino.  If you have been following these reviews or my Twitter you will know that FUT Bday Griezmann has been a favorite of mine since the start.  He was incredibly clinical and one of the few true 5 STAR WEAK FOOT players I have used.  Lately, I have been using player after player who is effective in front of goal, but none have really matched the confidence I felt with Griezmann… until now.  I won’t lie that I was originally a bit underwhelmed by Firmino’s statistics, but I started to realize early on in the weekend that looks can be deceiving.  For starters, 94 ACCELERATION & 93 SPRINT SPEED has become the norm for recent card releases, in fact they are even a bit low.  However, if you have ever used Scream Firmino you would know that that card has some hidden pace boosts, especially in acceleration.  Immediately it was clear that Summer Heat Firmino also benefits from this boost as he accelerates at the pace of smaller and more agile options; a huge benefit.

But most importantly with this card, is the shooting… much like Griezmann, the 5 STAR WEAK FOOT feels just as strong with both feet.  On first look over the shooting statistics I was tempted to use HAWK to bump them up, but I can say now without hesitation that it is not needed.  95 FINISHING, 90 SHOT POWER, 90 VOLLEYS & 85 LONG SHOTS all feel maxed out and I benefitted from his power all weekend.  One final note, I was also on the receiving end of Bobby’s scoring ability this weekend as I had two big losses at the hands of this card.  On one hand, I was poisoned to see an opponent use a card so much better than I could… but on the other I felt assured that I was not overstating the quality of this card, witnessing the punishment Bobby can inflict first hand.

Linkability

Linkability Rating: 4.5/5

There, I finally went for it, a 4.5/5 for a non-ICON option.  Reason being, there is currently a meta Liverpool option at every position… quality Brazilian options in every league… the EPL options are endless… and finally, the numerous Brazilian ICONs are also an advantage for getting Firmino into any squad.

End Game Strength

End Game Strength Rating: 5/5

I think it is obvious that I am sold with Firmino as a ST … but, it was not until after my review that I started to get the full depth of this card.  I have decided to torture myself in trying to get the Mendy and Bruno objectives completed… and in need of an attacking CM, I have used Firmino for about 10 matches in that roll.  I am so glad that I did and next weekend I hope I have found another piece to my end game puzzle with Firmino bossing the midfield.  At the very least, I know I have an easy to link, reliable, high scoring strike partner for whoever I review next.

Good vs. Bad

Good vs Bad Rating: 5/5

Mix in 92 AGILITY, 98 BALANCE, 99 BALL CONTROL & 99 DRIBBLING … on a high/high 81 STRENGTH striker and you have yourself a recipe for never losing the ball in tight spaces … add in the 98 REACTIONs and 5 STAR SKILLS and you start to remember why you started playing FIFA in the first place… you’re having fun.  So after everything, what doesn’t this card not have?  As a ST I honestly feel like this card has everything, and the proof is in the statistics after 20 matches and throughout the weekend.  However, as a CM I am concerned about the defensive abilities Firmino has… or doesn’t have in this case.  While the other areas of concern turned up roses, the 66 INTERCEPTIONS & 73 STANDING TACKLE do seem a long way off of adequate.

Closing Words

Earlier in the year, I used Scream Firmino for a long stretch of time… and I can see the same happening with the Summer Heat version, especially if he performs as a CM this weekend as he has so far in Rivals matches.  FIFA 20 was made for a card like this and Firmino checks every box a meta player requires.  This promo truly is revitalizing my enjoyment in FIFA and long may the summer days continue.  In the end, if you are looking for an entertaining option… or need a workhorse CM… or maybe you just need that ST you can rely on to finish your hard-earned chances, then Firmino is that card.  If you just want the answer to the question… should I complete this SBC?  ♪♪Si Señor, Give the ball to Bobby and he will score! ♪♪  Cheers for reading.

NOT OVERPRICED!
By portero23, 27-06-2020

This is my first review ever so please don't judge me! Roberto Firmino fits my team perfectly, so when I saw he was in a vote I knew that if he won I had to get him. He did, so I picked him up right as the sbc was released. I saw many people calling him overpriced, and noticed many people seeming disappointed in his stats. I think people were disappointed because they wanted good defending stats based off of his scream to use him as a cdm, but that's not what they got. However, I needed a striker, so I couldn't care less about his defending. Ok, now I'm going to break down his stats and how I (an elite 3 player) feel about him in game. Also, I've played 28 games with him, use an engine, and play him at striker in a 4231 with only instructions being stay forward on defense.

Pace (9/10): Obviously, he's no Mbappe, Mane, Adama, etc. in terms of pace, HOWEVER with an engine I'd actually even consider him to be fast, so not even close to it being a liability. He can run by defenders when he needs to, and is not going to be easy to catch up to.

Shooting (10/10): The. Man. Does. Not. Miss. Obviously, 5* WF is huge. The man is so unpredictable in the box, he creates his own shots and finishes them with ease. With an engine, shooting obviously isn't boosted, and that has not been an issue at all through almost 30 games. Also, one more thing I'd add to this is that HIS FINESSE SHOTS ARE INSANE. A bad habit of mine is that I shoot waaaay more finesse shots than I should. Because of this, I'm usually very picky about having the finesse trait, and prefer it for my attackers usually. However, he has the best finesse shots for a card without the trait that I've ever used. His shooting truly is amazing. In 28 games, he has scored 28, which is really good for me considering I score with all of my attackers evenly, so usually none of them are even close to averaging a goal a game.

Passing (10/10): Bobby has great passing. In 28 games, he has 16 assists, which I say is good for a striker. His passing is definitely good enough to play him at cam, and with 5* WF it's definitely great. Honestly, most tots and newer cards have great passing, there's not much difference between any of them.

Dribbling (9/10): 5* SM makes dribbling very fun. His body type and slightly below average agility and balance could make him not the most agile dribbler in the game, but with engine, it is not something to worry about at all. Definitely don't let his dribbling stray you away from this card, it is not a problem at all. Also something that I love about his dribbling is his ability to retain the ball through a tackle. I'm not sure if it's due to his balance, good physical, or whatever, but I'll put that trait in this section because it makes his dribbling seem even better.

is

Defending (9/10): The only reason this isn't 10/10 is because a lot of you wanted to play him at cdm, but unfortunately as you already know he does not have the facilities for that. However, for a striker, his defending is brilliant, in the sense that he literally will just win the ball back if he ever loses it. I've actually scored multiple goals so far this WL off of Bobby taking the ball from the opponent's CB in his own box and either assisting a goal from there or putting it in himself. His defensive presence in the opponent's backfield is very noticeable, so especially for any of you guys who like to team press, he is the man for you.

Physical (10/10): Firmino's physical is fantastic. Stamina is never an issue, which is always nice, and his strength and aggression, as mentioned in the dribbling and defending sections, allow him to win 50/50s and keep possession for your team.

OVERALL: If you have the fodder/coins/linkability, complete him. Without a doubt. The man has no weaknesses. 5* 5*. Perfect shooting. Perfect passing. Perfect physical. Good pace. Good dribbling. Very useful in team press.

For those of you used to playing with 99 agility and 99 balance on a 5'8 player, Firmino is not that. However, his dribbling is undoubtedly useable, and definitely not a liability.

Great Striker
By wolvesstarz, 26-06-2020

I completed Bobby Firmino as soon as I could as i had a lot of sbc fodder in my club, for example TOTS Immobile and TOTS Luis Alberto, and I was very happy when I started using him, his finishing was very good and he was clinical in a lot of situations (i would recommend using him as a striker), his pace felt good but not like the speed of Adama Traore but i didn't expect that (it did the job), his weak foot upgrade is very useful and it allows him to be versatile in many adept attacking scenarios. His composure is also very good and the runs he makes off the ball allows him to get a headstart over defenders which is key in this game. Personally as an average Fifa player I don't use skill moves all that much, however Firmino seemed to be able to execute him with ease; if you have players in your club I would definitely recommend completing this card.

Bobby Firmino: the missing piece
By Fedehux, 26-06-2020

I have to admit that when I first looked at Summer Heat Firmino, I was a bit dissapointed. After comparing his stats with Bruno Fernandes' (94 rated), I was hesitant to complete him. However, as a Liverpool fan, I absolutely HAD to try him out for myself -and I don't regret doing the SBC at all.

First and foremost, the main feature Firmino contributes to the team is his presence. Thanks to his High/High workrates, he became the heart an soul of the team, not only leading every attack but also sometimes helping out in defense. He seems to be everywhere, and he doesn't get tired due to his 97 stamina.

I applied engine to boost, apart from the pace (which seemed a bit lacking at this stage of the game), his agility/balance. The result was that it was almost impossible to dispossess him. Another more obvious attribute was his shooting: outstanding, even from outside the box.

Last but not least, he helped me to exploit Dalglish, Perisic and Saint Maximin to the fullest. The attacks were so much explosive than when Firmino wasn't in the team, which helped my other players truly reach their full potential.

To conclude, Bobby is the best CAM/Second striker I've used this year, and so much fun to play with. He can pretty much do anything: skills, shooting with both feet, holding the ball, leading counter-attacks, assisting other players, even defending on ocassion. That's why I believe he is the missing piece many players are looking for to complete their teams.

  • Outstanding shooting.
  • Composure and dribbling.
  • Brilliant passing.
  • 5*5* combo, which makes him super fun to play with.
  • Pace could be better but it's not a problem at all. With engine it's more than enough.

The Perfect Playmaker - Roberto Firmino
By Frasrule, 01-07-2020

As a Liverpool Fan, I of course voted for Firmino, he fits in my team perfectly, and every card of his this year has had something missing, this one is the ideal attacking midfielder. I did him within the first ten minutes that he came out, I was going to wait until using him in my actual team, but as i quickly noticed he was phenomenal even in a sub par team. I played him as a striker in a 4-3-1-2 for the first 8 or so matches, in Divison 4, his numbers were great considering my only purpose in those games was to score or assist with Bruno. When i switched to a 4-2-3-1 was when i enjoyed the best form of Bobby. Playing behind the striker, he consistently bagged and assisted. The 5* weak foot upgrade is very noticeable as it seemed he couldn't miss.

My only issue with him is that he didn't feel like he had 5* skills, its a problem i have put down to agility, it feels more like 4* for whatever reason, but choose to look past that, like i did and you have one hell of a player.

  1. Passing: HIs passing range was excellent, nearly always finding a man.
  2. Dribbling: I can always rely on him to beat a man, i scored a few pretty impressive skill goals with him.
  3. Pace: As I used a hunter, pace was not an issue, he had no issue with beating most defenders to the ball, I recall him running rings around TOTS Ramos.
  4. Finishing: Arguably his best attribute, he scored 98% of the shots he took, it's hard to remember him missing.
  1. Defending: My sole issue with the card, i was really hoping for a 84+ defending Bobby, to top his scream card off, but somehow he has less defending than Bruno.

Bobby Firmino

I don't understand the hate, the card seems to be fairly priced and plays really well in game if he suits your play style.. I play him as a cam with an engine chem style and free roam instructions ( in a 4-2-3-1) , 15 games so far and he seems pretty solid... The thing with this card is that he's good at passing/shooting/dribbling but lacks that WOW element in every area.. i did him because of the brazil links as he fits nicely in my team

If i have to compare this card i would say he's lot similar to prime kaka card(the one from icon swaps), if u enjoyed using kaka you will definitely enjoy him
