Old school defending. I've just finished my first weekend league with Silva at the back, partnered with Scream Romagnoli and can say that he's an excellent defender. High value for money, he always seems to be in the right place to intercept or make a tackle at the right time. (He makes a very high percentage of tackles) Obviously he's not the quickest or the strongest but in terms of pure defending, he's top class.

He's almost the type of defender you don't notice much, very solid and just does the basics of defending very well. He's not going to catch the eye by muscling anyone off the ball or outpacing them, but paired with a quick and strong defender (Romagnoli in my case), I think he makes a great defensive partner.

If you're the kind of player that relies on your anticipation and clean tackling taking care of opponents, you'll love this guy. If you're all about pace at the back, I'd warn against, although for 80k and a 90 rated player, might be worth giving him a go.

He picked up 4 MOTM performances for me in 27 Weekend League games, which is pretty impressive for a CB.

Surprisingly Good

Used the base version during draft and was impressed (I only conceded 3 goals throughout) so I thought I'd give the POTM a chance:The pace was good enough to work with when coupled with his positioning and tackling, his defensive performances were consistently 10's which in this current game is a rarity of itself. Old memories and old beast.
