Player Review
83 - SBC
So before I talk about opinions that changed over time, I wanted to say this: I have played this guy for a very long time, and he is a part of my main squad since he was released. After 100 games I wacrote my first review. I loved him a lot. But we're already in January, and I'm noticing some big problems. My biggest issue ist the fact that he neither has a 5*WF, or 5*SMs. With him being the only proper Striker in my team, that's quite an issue to me. Anyways, with that beeing said, let's begin:
"Emptying my bank account to replace Werner for him was a high risk, as I didn't know if Cunha was any good, because no one has completed him, let alone reviewed him and in addition I was very familiar with Werner because of my experiences with him in FIFA 19. But as the next Weekend League was coming up, and I was getting really tempted on completing Cunha because of the card design, and 4*SM I decided to just go for it. And oh boy was this the right decision."
I have to admit, I still haven't tried tried any of Werner's special cards this year, but I'm sure that his SIF for 80k less will probably do the job aswell. Maybe even better, apart from the 3*SMs. If that's not an issue, definetly go for Werner.
"Unfortunately, his pace doesn't feel as explosive as Werner did, although he is still very fast and if that's not enough, his Dribbling definetly made up for that."
Even with a Hunter Chemistry Style, he doesn't feel rapid. Good sprints for sure, but you quickly notice that 93 pace, nowadays isn't enough to get by any full-backs or even some center-backs. His ball control is great, but the combination of 81 Balance and 84 Agility makes him feel like a fat truck sometimes.
"I wasn't sure about his Composure because, I know Werner has worse Composure, but seeing the Composure, that the new released Icons from Icon Swap 1 had, really made me nervous about anything below 80. But in the end, it's completely fine, so no worries about that. He can finish when surrounded by defenders, which is a situation you can easily get yourself into, because of his high ball control."
Oh boy was I wrong about this one. His composure makes me struggle whenever I want to finish or pass the ball with just one defender by my side. He either plays the ball way to softly, or he finesses it for no reason. Rarely his shots even go in a completely wrong direction.
"He's really good in 1v1's with the keeper, as his dribbling and 4*SM allow tons of possibilities to go by. His finesse shots aren't very good, but his 99 Shotpower make it up by making him deadly with strong shots to the short corner."
This one is actually still true. As long if you don't take too long with your ball rolls or whatever, he seems composed enough to get by the keeper.
"His passes do the job, so if you play some long passes in the right moment or just sweat the ball across with ease."
Even though he has 166 assists in 261 games (219 goals btw) his passes only seem to be highly effective for sweating the ball. Long passes are a death sentence with him.
"So summed up, if you have a Bundesliga team, or need a brazilian striker, I would recommend to choose him from the league SBC, which will give you packs to open so that's another plus."
Just go with Lucas to be honest, Cunha definetly isn't wort the 230k in January just before TOTY. It's a fun card, but you shouldn't be using him in your Weekend League squad for long .
One more thing I didn't adress in my previous review, was his stamina. 82 just isn't much. He only finishes his matches on very rare occasions. Either Kent or Mane have to be subbed in for him around the 70th minute. He's just not able to run for a whole match at all.
- Powerful shots
- Good for 1v1's
- Pace is alright
- Finesse shots aren't very good
- Very low stamina
- Inaccurate passes
- Low Composure and Balance + Agility
