I know you can't be bothered reading the works of Shakespeare so I'll make it short and snappy.
He's bonkers, if you like an attacker who's always in the right place at the right time with the ability of Sergio to finish; Cunha is your guy.
Stick a hawk or something on him and he'll blast away goals for fun, his accuracy to find the back of the net off one touch is what really makes him Bean?
Main Pros are his positioning and ability to slot one home in a congested box, his four star combination allows him to absolutely yeet on the defender whilst being able to boink it on either foot. You get decent packs too, I managed to pack a Mid Ian Wright which basically paid for it in double
Looks like a bit of a kiddie fiddler in game ( He has that Laxalt trim cornrows)
Heading feels weak
Probably wouldn't play him as a CDM or CM as his defending is poop
He is an amazing striker! His pace and his finshing is unbelievable good. He wins every header, even against VVD. His weak foot is almost as good as the strong one. His dribbling is incredible and with 4 stars skills he can also do skills. His strength feels much more than 77 (with Hawk). His long shots are very good (he can easily score out of 25-30 meters).
Pace, finishing, header, weak foot, skills, dribbling and agility.
Sometimes his passing is bad and his sbc is with almost 400k very expensive.
First of all I did the SBC because of the Packs and ignored this card and I wanted to choose "Boetius" first but then I decided to try him and I am very happy I decided so. His shooting is insane inside the box, he shoots very strong and mostly hard to defend if he has space. He is scoring goals after goals. He is not very agile but with Hawk he is always in the best spot, so you don't have to dribble too much with him. I put Mbappe next to him so he as a very agile partner and the combo is fire. He is a good card and maybe he is 83 but for me he is a good starter!
- 4 Star Skills/Weak Foot
- Agility (His Driblling Stats are high, but don't feel like that high)
- Pace could be bit more
So before I talk about opinions that changed over time, I wanted to say this: I have played this guy for a very long time, and he is a part of my main squad since he was released. After 100 games I wacrote my first review. I loved him a lot. But we're already in January, and I'm noticing some big problems. My biggest issue ist the fact that he neither has a 5*WF, or 5*SMs. With him being the only proper Striker in my team, that's quite an issue to me. Anyways, with that beeing said, let's begin:
"Emptying my bank account to replace Werner for him was a high risk, as I didn't know if Cunha was any good, because no one has completed him, let alone reviewed him and in addition I was very familiar with Werner because of my experiences with him in FIFA 19. But as the next Weekend League was coming up, and I was getting really tempted on completing Cunha because of the card design, and 4*SM I decided to just go for it. And oh boy was this the right decision."
I have to admit, I still haven't tried tried any of Werner's special cards this year, but I'm sure that his SIF for 80k less will probably do the job aswell. Maybe even better, apart from the 3*SMs. If that's not an issue, definetly go for Werner.
"Unfortunately, his pace doesn't feel as explosive as Werner did, although he is still very fast and if that's not enough, his Dribbling definetly made up for that."
Even with a Hunter Chemistry Style, he doesn't feel rapid. Good sprints for sure, but you quickly notice that 93 pace, nowadays isn't enough to get by any full-backs or even some center-backs. His ball control is great, but the combination of 81 Balance and 84 Agility makes him feel like a fat truck sometimes.
"I wasn't sure about his Composure because, I know Werner has worse Composure, but seeing the Composure, that the new released Icons from Icon Swap 1 had, really made me nervous about anything below 80. But in the end, it's completely fine, so no worries about that. He can finish when surrounded by defenders, which is a situation you can easily get yourself into, because of his high ball control."
Oh boy was I wrong about this one. His composure makes me struggle whenever I want to finish or pass the ball with just one defender by my side. He either plays the ball way to softly, or he finesses it for no reason. Rarely his shots even go in a completely wrong direction.
"He's really good in 1v1's with the keeper, as his dribbling and 4*SM allow tons of possibilities to go by. His finesse shots aren't very good, but his 99 Shotpower make it up by making him deadly with strong shots to the short corner."
This one is actually still true. As long if you don't take too long with your ball rolls or whatever, he seems composed enough to get by the keeper.
"His passes do the job, so if you play some long passes in the right moment or just sweat the ball across with ease."
Even though he has 166 assists in 261 games (219 goals btw) his passes only seem to be highly effective for sweating the ball. Long passes are a death sentence with him.
"So summed up, if you have a Bundesliga team, or need a brazilian striker, I would recommend to choose him from the league SBC, which will give you packs to open so that's another plus."
Just go with Lucas to be honest, Cunha definetly isn't wort the 230k in January just before TOTY. It's a fun card, but you shouldn't be using him in your Weekend League squad for long .
One more thing I didn't adress in my previous review, was his stamina. 82 just isn't much. He only finishes his matches on very rare occasions. Either Kent or Mane have to be subbed in for him around the 70th minute. He's just not able to run for a whole match at all.
- Powerful shots
- Good for 1v1's
- Pace is alright
- Finesse shots aren't very good
- Very low stamina
- Inaccurate passes
- Low Composure and Balance + Agility
When I first saw his stats I thought tha he would never work as a central midfielder. After 10 games (DIV 5) I can say that he actually surprised me.
I'm playing him with the following instructions: get forward / free roam / balanced defense
His biggest strength has to be his finishing, if you combine this w/ green timed finish it's near to impossible for the GK to stop him from scoring.
about his 4 star WF: his weak foot feels better than from other 4 star WF cards. Examples: Lautaro Martinez, Josef Martínez, Aubameyang
Another positive trait from him is his ball control, since I'm playing with 5 players up front, where I play a lot of one touch football ball control is one if not he most important stat for me.
His strength feels much worse than 72. Even Dybala (61) and Werner (65) are feeling much stronger in-game than Cunha. A comparison to someone like Lautaro (87) isn't needed.
Passing is another weakness of him. If you use him as Striker it's probably not that important, but since I'm playing him as central midfielder, I had to use deadeye to get his short passing to 80, which is solid then.
Is he worth around 400k? probably not, the packs you get from the SBC aren't garbage but aren't the greatest either. Meta Players like Rashford, Lucas and Werner are all cheaper plus they are tradable.
- Long Shots
- Ball Control
- Weak Footf
- Heading Accuracy
