Honest Review of Prime Raul (Underwhelming)
By Duckzworth, 11-02-2020

A brutally honest review of prime Raul, where do I begin. I had very high expectations for this card, not only because of the price but also because his stats look incredible all round. However, I found myself wanting more from him especially in the big moments of games. There is this something in FIFA I like to call “THE SHOT”. It’s those special finishing animations that a player will pull off that make you say WOW!! like when he dinks the ball over the GK’s leg save attempt without you holding the chip shot modifier. That to me is EA’s way of telling you this guy is special, and unfortunately Raul doesn’t have it. For a guy who has those shooting stats, you expect him to be clinical and although he can hit some bangers, I never felt 100% sure he was going to score the chances he got.

Don’t get me wrong, this card has plenty of upside. He has very good passing and dribbling, although not top tier. He doesn’t have breakaway speed, but he is very good with hold up play so use him as a target man to link passes instead of trying to play him through. The thing I noticed most with this card was his positioning, he just knows where to be in the attack. His off-ball movement is fantastic especially when passing around your opponent’s box. Which I why I was so disappointed with him because he would get into the best positions for shots, but time and time again would let me down, and it would often be the difference between a win and a loss in FUT champs.

All in all, I would say he’s a great card, but not incredible. He will get involved in the attack and has some very good key attributes. But when the rubber meets the road, he just isn’t that special, and for that reason I wouldn’t recommend him for 1.4mil. Do yourself a favor and save up and extra 150k to get 87 Kenny Dalglish. His 5-star weak foot outweighs the lack of stats comparatively, and King Kenny of course has… “THE SHOT”

Positioning is his best feature

Good stamina, is still going strong after the 70th minute

Passing is very good for link up play

Dribbling is responsive and feels good

Good balance on the ball, doesn't get shoved around easily

Great hold up play, perfect for a false 9 or target man

His shots get saved more than they should and he misses some sitters

Doesn't seem to bail you out when you need him to

His first touch is sometimes terrible, could just be the gameplay though

Raul Gonzalez Blanco - REAL, Real madrid Legend

Was looking for a left footed icon striker with at least 4* WF and 4* skills for my squad.as an exception to stated above I also considered Prime Stoichkov. However the 4* WF and his price convinced me to favor Raul over Stoichkov, furthermore I've seen Raul play (being 33yo).And always have been a fan of his neat image.Due to panic sales in regards to TOTY, I was able to snipe him at a good ...

the Legend

I was looking for a new striker to fit my first squad and thought I give this man a chance during the WL.Well, where to start? I play him as right striker in a 4-1-2-1-2 in first half and if this is not as successful as I want it to be I usually switch to 4-2-3-1 in second half playing him up front. As I was lucky enough to pack TOTY De Bruyne (I will never complain about my pack luck again) and did SBC Villa ...
