Player Review
93 - Normal
A long time ago, you may trust or not, Cristiano Ronaldo was a "selfish-skilled-winger" who cared more to mirror himself and mock the defenders instead of be effective for the team. Looking at what this player became along years is quite incredible because Ronaldo in real life is one of the most effective players in the world. Not only amazing for the technical level of his play but more than all the other things this is what he is: effective.
How this player plays in FIFA? Well this year I'm
really tired to hear "this player got less than 90 balance&agility =
unusable". Really men, stop following like dumbs most of the youtubers and
think with your head. Football is a team game, you cannot expect to win games
with a single player, and the best teams actually got a mix for different
players with different features. And more important the players have to fit
your style of play.
Ronaldo is your man if you need an effective player that turns opportunity in goals. In an easy game he will score 4 goals. In tight games he will score the decisive goal. This is what you have to expect from him. What else you could ask?
I play him as left striker in a 4 4 2 formation with some variants (the left winger come close to the center for one-two touches and one of the central median is set like a box-to-box player).
I give him instructions to stay wide and cut inside and he performs very well, actually on an excellent level.
Now, a couple of game situations may clarify what I mean for “effective”.
Attacking scenario number one: on a counter I was able to launch my striker (maybe was FS James) in a 1v1 situation: he kicks on the far post but the keeper was able to deflect the shot. What happened is that the ball rebounds with a slow lob that probably had to fall in the left corner of the small area near the net, ready to be blocked by the keepr or swept by defender. And actually the defender was ready to sweep the ball, but very close to him Ronaldo just cut on the left from the center of the box and anticipate the opponent. He was so unbalanced that falls down.
During the fall he hits the ball with his left foot. Goal.
Attacking scenario number two: Ronaldo receives the ball in a wide spot 35 meters away from the goal, on the left side. He makes a run pointing the center of the box: I was something 3 goals ahead and I want to try the longshot. The ball runs like a cannon ball on the far post and the keeper manage to touch it. His hand was bended by the power of the shot. Goal. In the replay I can see that for the violence of the shot a piece if the pitch flyes up than 3 meters. Nice detail.
If you got the coins just buy him. If you will spend less than 40% of your budget I think you manage to build a decent team around him.
Game changer, if you build up a decent team around him
