You’re here for one of 2 reasons. You either got this guy out of your base icon pack like me or you need a Brazilian midfielder to pull your team together. His passing is strong and his height means he wins headers easily. i played him at LCM in a 41212 narrow and his balance and agility does let him down. But for every time that he messes up, just remember, HIS LONG SHOTS. This man can kweng a long short from anywhere in the opponent’s half and are possibly the sexiest thing I have ever seen. The way they curve, with power, sooo fit. I got roasted for getting this guy in my icon pack. I know now that I don’t want anything else, this guy is a weapon.

Agility and balance but it doesn't really matter, lets be honest.
he is so fun to use! he dribbles past defenders so easily. his longshots are phenomenal, he can shot from almost everywhere and score. he feels a bit slow at times, espeacially againts fast defenders. but that isnt a big problem because his dribbling is so good. overal i would reccomend this card to anyone with the coins!

I pack him in my swaps base icon pack and I didn't know how to make of it. He was 5*WF but TERRIBLE balance and not ideal agility. I play some games in rivals as a CAM and it didn't work. Too stiff. So coming to the weekend league, I was very skeptical but I decide to use him as an striker because he has strength and height to the position and OMG. AMAZING has a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1, was a killer. IF he get a little window and shoot, 99.9% will be a goal. In 30 games, he score 48 GOALS and 9 assist. His work rates didn't affect him at all. Totally an game changer for me and now I have my striker for future weekend leagues. I recommend that the other player in attack have great dribbling so he can just worry about scoring goals.

Dribbling (78 agility and 56 balance, doesn't look great but as an target man he doesn't need that much and the 4*SM helps a lot)
I tried him at CAM, but overall he did not match my expectations. His balance did not surprise me, since I already knew that it is very poor. What really ruined this card in my opinion is the workrates. He usually does not make any runs and his AI feels kind of dumb (feels invisible on the pitch). His shooting is amazing, though his shooting animations felt a bit slow.

Balance is a huge issue (is unfortunately the meta and pretty much destroys icons that were amazing in real life like Van Basten and Van Nistelrooij)

Workrates (he feels lazy on the pitch, which is in my opinion the biggest issue)
I needed to make some changes on my team due to chemistry issues created by my Paulinho card. I decided a Brazilian icon CM would be an ideal fix to my problem. Not having enough to afford the next tier of midfielders and not wanting Rivaldo I decided to settle with base Socrates. On the surface this card looks fantastic with blistering offensive stats and the physicality to match. He is 6'4 with awesome heading and scoring in the box. His five star week foot combined with four star skills is nearly perfect. However, one stat ruins all of this: balance. His 56 balance is poor to the point that it ruined this card for me despite me loving his shooting and passing abilities. He is pushed off the ball so easily despite a relatively high 82 strength. After originally using a hunter for pace I eventually decided to switch to engine to try and boost his balance. The boost just wasn't enough and he continued to struggle against physical midfielders. Essentially, you can't keep the ball on him for too long because of how easy it is to push him over. He isn't agile enough to consistently dribble around players and because of this is very limited in what he can do. It really is sad because I wanted more than anything for this card to work but it just didn't feel like he could keep up in division 2.
