There are cards in this game that are good, there are cards that are great, and there are cards which are out of this world, and that is where King Kenny stands. I only managed to buy this card after i packed 88 Seedorf, and boy was it the best decision I have made so far.
When you first look at this card, you may think, oh i might as well get Son or Rashford for a fraction of the price. But there are things that stats alone cannot show, and one of the key strengths about Dalglish's card is his movement. I play Dalglish alongside Mane and Salah, both cards are 3 ratings higher than him and have better stats in every area other including positioning, where mane has 92, salah 91 and Kenny only has 87 ( I have the same chem style hunter applied to all 3 cards ) . However in game, the difference is very noticeable. There is just something about Dalglish's movement that makes him better than normal rare gold cards, for example knowing when to make runs in behind, and when to stay still and wait for rebounds, or just moving into open spaces which gives him the best chance to take the best shot. I have lost count of the number of times where he was always there to tap in rebounds or times where he was just waiting in the perfect spot to slot it home.
PACE : 9/10
Absolutely rapid with hunter, he only feels slightly slower than Mane and Salah who i also have hunter on. No issues here whatsoever.
DRIBBLING : 10/10
Obviously positioning isn't his only strength. His dribbling is an absolute joy to use, with 93 agility and 88 balance, he cuts through many defences like a hot knife through butter. Even though his face dribbling stats is only 88, it really feels way higher than that, probably on par with hazard or a little below that. Then again I havent used mbappe and neymar so i cant compare to those 2. But if you are worried that the dribbling is a little low for a card of this price, i can assure you that it is a non-issue.
SHOOTING : 9/10
Shooting wise, there is a slight complaint that i have with this card, which is that in very few games, he just cant seem to hit the target, and smacks it wide or high despite being in really good positions, even on his strong foot. However that only happens maybe once every 10 or 15 games, which doesn't make it a big problem, and his ability to keep getting into good positions does make up for it even if he has a bad time finishing. However when he is on his A game, everything he hits just goes in, right foot or left foot, volleys or finesses, if King kenny is on form, goals are just a certainty.
PASSING : 7/10
Another tiny issue i had with his card is his passing, as sometimes he does overhit passes to mane and salah when on the counter, but this is expected as he only has 74 passing, and his main strength is goal scoring, not playmaking. Anyway he has no problem making simple one-two passes.
PHYSICAL : 6.5/10
Dalglish's physical is quite deceiving, you may think that 63 strength is pretty low, but honestly he feels way stronger than players like 86 fati or hazard who have very similar strength stats. I found him to be able to shake off some defenders when on the run which really surprised me, as players like fati would have been smacked off the ball with 0 effort. As for jumping, it is nowhere near 77 as he lost every single air battle, maybe its due to his height, but in 100 games he has yet to score a header for me, so don't try to use him as a target man. And finally 84 stamina is more than enough for a striker, no complaints here.
OVERALL : 9/10
Obviously this card at this stage of the game is quite an expensive investment, and Im very lucky to be able to use this card due to insane pack luck. However if you do have a spare 1.3 to 1.4 mil lying around, you cant go wrong with Kenny Dalglish. Sure you could go with someone much cheaper like Son or Rashford or even Rodrigo, but where most cards gives you an edge, Dalglish gives you an experience.
The grind for the base icon pack was worth it. I opened the pack, skipped the animation and i started searching for the icon. My brother saw what i got, he was behind laughing when i was near Scotland and i knew who was going to be. Kenny Dalglish. Having Mbappe i thought, "he might be a little worse than him but is usable". GOD, i was wrong, he is even more than usable, Kenny is a fucking god. I´ve been using him as a striker next to CR7 and he got more goals than him. The way he runs away is so OP. He is always where he has to be and that´s something i love about this card. The only thing i dont like about him is passing, sometimes it can be awful, only if you try long or "crazy" passes. If you need any REAL striker, Kenny is the one for the job.
This might be the best striker I have used this year, Honestly his dribbling isn't as it seems it is a bit worse in game, he doesn't feel clunky but the ball doesn't exactly stick to his feet. In terms of pace he feels like he has 100 pace. This card with a hunter will destroy enemy backlines in terms of pace. His physicals are below par on the card but in game he feels very sturdy and he is very jammy, he somehow always comes out with the ball. His passing is not good, it is exactly as the card says. But his shooting, oh lord. This card finished from anywhere in the box, there was a situation where he was nearly at a 180 degree angle from the goal and with a ball roll he popped an outside foot shot trait around 2 defenders an the keeper and it went in, his shooting animations are god tier. I used him as a st in 442 4231 and 4312 and he did the same in all formations. All he did was score he is so good
PACEEE
SHOOTING (outside foot shot trait)
DRIBBLING (but not top tier, but very good)
PHYSICAL (surprisingly holds off defenders very nicely)
ANIMATIONS (he has overpowered animations shooting wise)
Ball doesn't exactly stick to his feet
Stamina is quite deceiving (feels more like 78 - 80)
Long shots aren't consistent (but he does score sometimes)
I packed Kenny out of the first icon swaps and for having moderate base card stats this man is insane. I am not the best at rivals but Kenny single-handedly got me promoted from div 9 to div 6. His shooting is amazing, he rarely misses. His pace with a hunter is good enough and the only fault with him is his lack of physicality but he's definitely not weak. His passing is not very good but fine for ST.
