I received this Werner from my gold 2 rewards, and built a pretty cool team with him for this weekend league. I was worried about his 3* skill moves and his low passing stats, especially since he was replacing my baby Baggio as Eden hazard ST partner in a 41212(2).
I played 6 Div2 rivals games with him, as well as my 30 weekend league games (Gold1 20/30). He has 36 goals and 20 assists in those 36 games, with 0 penalty.
I put a Hawk on him, and he feels amazing in game. His shooting is incredible, he finishes with such power, often finding the top corner. He is also really fast, and surprisingly, his dribbling feels really good. His first touch is great, really making a difference in the box, and his passing has been pretty reliable, definitely better than what his card stats suggest.
I play him as Right ST in a 41212 (2) with Hazard as the other ST and Okocha as CAM, and they all feel really good together, but Werner stole the show inside the box, while the others struggled a bit more.
Overall, I am really glad that I got him from my Fut Champs picks this early in the game, as I see him be a starter in my team for many weeks. I was worried his passing would be a deal breaker, but I never noticed him missing a pass that I felt he shouldn't. Maybe the next update will change that review, but as of now, he is 5/5.
Pace: he is really fast, and also strong enough to resist against defenders a lot of the time
Shooting: very reliable in front of goal, as well as some long shots really helped securing the wins in some close games
Dribbling: feels smooth on the ball, really great first touch
He is definitely a really good striker. Decides a lot of WL games for me. Not sure if it's worth the price, since I got him untreadable, but you can definitely give him a try. Im not gonna put him number of matches, goals and assists, since they are a little messed up bc I did the challenge in beginner mode squad battles to get the 50k pack, and he score about 15-20 goals in each match so they are a bit inaccurate. But I am pretty sure he has an average of about one goal per game and assist once every 2-3 games.
Shooting, really good shot power, finishing
4 WF surprised me a lot, I thought he was going to miss way more often than he does, sometimes his left even feels like a 5WF
Pace- his 92 pace allows me to use a finisher on him, which helps a lot on his dribbling. His pace is good, outpaces center backs quite often too, but maybe if you play on a long ball style, apply a hawk.
Dribbling is kinda of in the middle, he is pretty decent if applied a finisher. He can turn fast enough to get ahead of center backs.
3SM does limit him a little bit, I honestly feel like I do a la croquette or a rainbow in some plays with him if he had the 4SM, but for me it doesn't change that much tbh.
Passing could be better, he does misses some simple passes, but sometimes does some really good ones too.
I have used him for exactly 100 games in Rivals and 2 weekends of Fut Champs. He has been the only striker I have heavily used this year other than Rulebreakers Talisca who is his strike partner in a 41212(2), of was the cam behind Werner in a 4231
He is DEFINETLY worth his price, I really recommend him to anyone who is thinking about buying him!
Let me explain why:
PACE:
My tactics have long ball so I don't even put get in behind on this guy and he makes the craziest runs in between and even around the defenders, And even if he doesn't make the run once in a while just L1 trigger his run manually and he's gone, no one can catch him. With hawk he gets 99 acceleration and in game he gets running faster than Usain Bolt in 2009 when he got the World Record.
SHOOTING:
There are no words to describe his finishing. Once he's in the box, 99,9% of the time it's a goal if there's no AI block. The power this man has in his legs is insane, the ball just teleports into the net and the GK has no chance of saving it. With hawk he has 97 shotpower and 95 finishing with 89 longshots, so even just outside the box he's as deadly as the nukes in Kim Jong Un's back garden. He also feels like he has no weak foot at all. He does have 4* weak foot so you expect it to feel a little less than his right , but that's not the case.
PASSING:
If I have to give one reason not to buy this card it's his passing. It feels very clumsy and makes quite some passes go out of play or straight into the opponent's feet. This was kinda an issue, as I pass a lot between my two strikers but I stuck through it and got used to not wanting to do some insane passes with him.
So don't use him as your CAM if you don't have to. But you won't buy this card for his passing, as all his other stats almost feel end game quality already.
DRIBBLING:
So for dribbling I don't have much to say, he's only got 3 star skill moves so you won't be pulling the craziest skill runs with him. But overall his actual dribbling stats feel as they should be, maybe a bit clumsy because of his 76 Balance, and if that bothers you, slap a chem style that fixes that on him. But for me his dribbling was never really an issue as his other stats make up for it.
DEFENDING:
At first it doesn't look like there is anything to speak of in terms of defending but he can actually track back and recover the ball quite often because of his pace and stature. If you do this manually of course. I'm not really that good with crosses yet so I can't speak of his heading, i'm sorry.
PHYSICAL:
His stamina is absolutely no problem at 84, only if you have made many runs with him all game he won't be able to give his all in extra time in Fut Champs but that's what substitutes are for of course. With hawk his jumping goes up to 86 which you can feel with goal kicks. If he is in front of the defender and you hold L2 most of the time he will jump high enough to control the ball with his chest and keep the ball in play.
One of the best strikers in the game. He can win games for you all alone. One of the top 10 strikers in the game.
Pace: absolutely insane. I have played Varane, Joe Gomez IF and even Kyle Walker IF and he gets by them quite comfortably. Very good sprint speed
Shooting: makes cross net shots so easy. Basically an automatic goal scorer. Very good at penalties too. Not the best for outside the box shots but he should be used as a counter attack goal scorer and less of a possession player. 4* weak foot is not bad.
Dribbling: very agile with the ball. 3* skills make him less tempting to buy but his speed makes up for it.
Passing: he is not terrible at passing. I play him up front with mbappe and he does not make too many intercepted passes. Not phenomenal but not a con.
Not the worst physical. He doesnt stand a chance vs Koulibaly or Virgil but he can hold his ground. I sprint so much with him that his stamina runs out after maybe 70 minutes, but he should last you at least 70 minutes if not more.
I played Werner in the last WL as Striker in the 4321 and this guys was crazy. His pace dosent felt like 92 Overall maybe like 85 but his shooting and his strength were so good. As i bought him i thought he is a player who can only run and score but in many times the defender counldnt catch the ball from him.
He was a Gamechanger in many Times and scored 42 Goals in my WL and carried me to my first Elite 3 this year
If you have the Coins for him he is definitely worth it
Got him in red pick up grade 83-86 and my god is he good no wonder they called him turbo Timo, blistering pace. Had an engine on him
Pace- With the engine no defender could catch him, Later into the games his pace went a little but still could get in behind. But his first touch also was insane always away from his man and into space and his acceleration made it too unfair on the defender most times.
Dribbling- His agility helps with this his agile dribbling and left stick is really good and can easily make space in the box using it.
shooting- with finishing 90 you can’t go wrong
WF-4 could be better but his left still banged in loads but missed a couple chances but he made up for it later in the games.
Movement- seems to always be in space and be able to get the ball to his feet turn his man and score.
physical- his strength was surprisingly good. He held of players but sometimes got out muscled but can’t complain for the card.
SM- 3 star skill moves can be a killer if you like to use skills to create space or beat your man like me but I adapted to it .
passing- his passing is quite low, misplaces a couple of passes but with the engine card didn’t seem too bad
volleys,Heading - for R1 Crosses it can be a pain when he is found at the end of one and heads it wide or volleys it wide
I packed him on a gold upgrade, and i use it for 4 weekend league. In the first one he scored like 40 goals, in the second one like 30 and in the lasts he was so bad.
He was very innacurate in his shots and his passes were really bad, he will have misses like 20 key passes and he made me so angry.
So i tell you use him for 2 weekend league, but after that 2 sell him
This is my first review ever so I hope you like it ;) This year I told myself to play for fun and try as many cards as I find that look fun, so this Werner card looked like a safe bet. I used him for 5 matches, 3 on Coop with a friend who is a huge fan of him he didn´t have the best of performances, he wasn´t bad or anything but it didn't feel like a 370K card (1 goal 1 assist on those 3 matches) but I wanted to give him a second chance. The next day I played by my own 2 more matches, he felt way better and scored 2 goals, so I have mixed feelings with this card. I wouldn't get this version, not worth the coins but sill a fun card.?
I hit him for awards for FCH. I have played 48 games with him and I must admit that he is a good and cheap player for the class he shows on the pitch.
Werner has very good shots from the right and left leg, therefore in my club he scored 64 goals in 50 matches. The German machine can also pass very well to his teammate, which gave him 27 assists in my team at the moment. In summary, if you need a striker whoONLY finishes a given situation and you do not require trick stars or amazing dribbling from him, definitely buy him ...... but if you have mammoths in your squad that you could improve for the money difference between the regular and the totw, better buy the regular one and improve the composition.
