So first of all, I have to say, this review might not apply to everyone, especially because I don’t use any skill moves above 3*, if you’re like me and can overlook that, he is one of the best players in the PL for the price...
he’s pacey, barely misses, dribbling feels godlike, and passing is good.
5/5 in my opinion, there’s only a few minor nitpicks about his card.

I packed Barnes off of the 85+ double upgrade and I was exited to try him. Even though I like skill moves and I can't perform rainbow,la croqueta,etc. with 3 stars skill moves, though it wouldn't bother me that much. I immediatlyimmediately put him engine so he would be as agile as possible. I started him as LW and then moved to CAM and ST.
Starting with pace, first two games did not show good results. His body type feels so strange comparing to the other players. He was really slow but I got used to it and then he seemed fairly fast. As a LW he doesn't performthat well, but as a CAM or ST he shows better results. When he starts running, for the first second, is like he starts really slow but then the acceleration comes in. About pace, I would give him 8/10. He is not the fastest player but he is certainly fast enough to get past the CB's fairly quickly. Seeing a player with that body type and without speed dribbler trait, running that fast is fascinating.
Dribbling is surely not the best with body type like that. With engine his agility goes to 94 and his balance goes up to 96 which is amazing but honestly in game he doesn't feel like it. It feels like he has 85 agility 82 balance and it isn't even that strange because he doesn't have technical dribbler or flair traits and he is tall enough for a footballer. Also composure and ball control don't seem to be better than average but they are ok. There is another problem which i don't know if it happens to me but when I press pass, shoot or tryto do a skill move, he responds significantly slower than my other players. I would give 7/10 because of agility, balance, ball control and composure, dribbling isnot his strong stat.
I don't even know what to say about shooting. Honestly his shooting is just AMAZING! There is no angle from inside the box that he will not take advantage of and not score. I personally scored a goal from the closest angle possible with his left foot. Long range shots are so good but not even close to compare them with inside the box shooting. I give him 10/10. The only player I have used that has better shooting is Dybala. Also outside the foot shot and shot taker feel great on him.
For a CAM his shooting is great. His vision is better than most of the players out there. Thou his far range shot isn't that good. Players like Dybala, Grealish,etc. have better passing but his overall passing feels just great. His curve is good enough but he could have some more to make finesse shots even deadlier. I give him 9/10. His passing on ST or LW is just a waste so if you play without a CAM and have two ST apply him a GET IN BEHIND instruction.
At this stage of the game, having a player with 85+ stamina is one of the most important stats for a player. This guy has 90 stamina and in a game which is that defensive and your opponents put ULTRA DEFENSIVE and TEAM PRESS it is very useful to have a player that will not die from the 50th minute. His strength and his jumping feel ok and his agression is not the best. I would give him 8/10 just because of the stamina, the other physicality stats could be better.

If you are saving coins and want to buy him because you don't get bothered with the dribbling or the skill moves save your coins and wait until the price falls a bit. If you packed him untradable the decision is yours, try him out and if you like him put him in your squad. For nearly 400k this card is great but overpriced. Also he was not much of a game changer for me.

I’ve tried a lot of cams from a lot of leagues including icons but this guy is just the absolute best, I’m in div one and get elite and I don’t skill, mainly cus I think it’s stupid and doesn’t resemble football, it looks idiotic to glitch around a pitch, sooner fifa gets better at being a football game not stick mashing the better. He isn’t clunky like some comments say, he’s just amazing, positioning and finishing better than most cards I’ve used this year, I was shocked, picked him up as investment but tried him and won’t sell, use a hunter in 4312 and he’s everywhere , wasted at ST IMO as he’s just so good front to back, strong, good passing and perfect attack play.

Harvey barnes is possibly the best CAM in the premier league this fifa. His only downfall is his 3 star skills but if your like me and don't do big skills then he's the perfect choice.

Having packed him untreadable, I had to try to fit him into my team, he is my central CAM in my 4231 in division 2. I have been playing him on 10 chem for 30 games in which he scored 16 goals and assisted 8. This is a very particular player not only because of the 3 star skill moves but also because of his main characteristic that you really can't see on his stats: in game he only makes "heavy touches" on the ball. This is not fixable due to the fact it isn't related to his card, it is just him. However when you get used to it it's fine, especially because you will have found how to make up for his 3 star SM: his left stick dribbling is amazing, he is able to turn at light speed and after some practice you can do beautiful things with it. Passing is good (watch out for long passes tho), shooting is great and pace is really good.
