I played with Courtois in 4-4-2 with Diego Carlos (and later Varane) and Militao in front of him. And an only reason why i sold him was Joe Gomez and Allison as a link for him. And i can't say that Alisson is better.
Here is a thing. When Alisson could make a supersave, belgian keeper could not. But, and it is crucial for me, he dont make such mistakes as Alisson. He is like more confident, more solid. And you know what to expect from him. He is tall, so in 97 games he conceded only 2 longshots outside of the box. Also, he is sooo good on corners because of his perk. With Alisson in 10 games i already concede 3 goals from corners. He is good in 1v1, especially when you call him to run out. And he don't concede silly goals like Neuer in Fifa 20 like under hand, in a 10 cm left from leg. He didn't miss this type of goals for me. Also, he has deadly links to Militao, Varane.
His legs is ok. Cant say he is the Ronaldinho of keepers, but can pass well.
So, i can highly recomend him for your squads. He is very stable and solid.
Thanks!
1) Solid and confident
2) didnt concede silly goals
3) good at 1v1
4) tall, good longshot stopper
5) perk make him very good at corners
6) great links to good defenders such as Militao, Varane
1) sometimes he wiil not help you with random supersave like Alisson, but on a distance he is a better choise (in my opinion)
I played a few games with him in the beginning of fifa and before that I played a few games with Vaclik. Back then he felt 10 times better then Vaclik. I would say even a bit better then Neuer.
He fits perfectly in the squat I am currently using so I was looking forward to using him again. But now he feels 10 times worse then vaclik.
I gave him 12 games to prove himself. In those
He did not mange to make more then 4 saves in a single game
He had 3 game in witch he did not make a single safe by half time
Every long shot my opponents tried no matter how ridicules the position how bad the long shot stat of the player they tried it with the ball went in
This resulted in games ending 6:6 7:5 or 2:5 and me sitting in front of my Monitor in a mixture of my own sweat and tears seriously considering to discard this piece of shit just so my misery has an end
At this point he has almost 4 million games in fifa 21 so maybe I am just a noskill noob needing a reason why he is still loosing against 200k squats with his 2.5 million op team
In contrast to some other GK he knows how to throw a ball
He is tall I guess
His positioning is the worse I have EVER seen!
Sometimes I thought he purposefully made a few steps in the wrong direction just so he can fly through the air making it look like he is honestly trying to save the ball while he really just wanted to fix the match
As we know goalkeepers in Fifa 21 aren't exactly reliable. But Courtois is the type of player who really stands out. I've used Ter Stegen, Oblak and Neuer and none of them have performed as well as the belgian did. His large frame is a huge advantage, giving him the extra reach other goalkeepers might lack. He has great reflexes and a nice set of animations, which allow him to single-handedly keep you from conceding in some tough games. For 40k I really can't reccomend him enough - especially if you have a Varane. He is CLASS.
Very tall, which gives him that extra reach.
Slick and functonal custom animations.
Costs 40k, which you can realistically get in a week.
Strong link to Rafa Varane (I don't think I have to elaborate on that one)
Does well against the most common shots in the game (He saves most shots aimed towards the top corner)
Sometimes gets beaten by saveable shots.
He is a goalkeeper in FIfa 21 - don't expect miracles.
I used Courtois with multiple defenses in front of him ranging from Varane and Ramos to Militao and Diego Carlos. and I must say at not point did I feel confident with him at goal, yes he can make a good save every now and then. That however is assuming he moves. Countless times he just stands and watches the ball, thinking it will go out. I have had a handful of games where my opponent have 3-5 shots on target and Courtois will have 0 saves at the end. Goalkeepers wont save everything I understand that but I would expect them to save the easy cheese goals at least. Courtois has been one of the worst keepers I have used thus far.(Alisson, Ter Stegen, dean Henderson, Courtois)
Really good solid keeper. Doesn't let in easy shots and saves the hard ones. Great reflexes positioning isnt great however its better with a glove. really good
