I am a div 1 player with Elite 2 as my top WL placement last year. In this years installment I have tried Neymar, CR7, Messi and Mbappe. These players will serve as reference in this review of Pele 91. This is my first review ever.
Pele compared to:
Mbappe
Pele is a similar player but offers more overall. You could say that Pele is like Mbappé on steroids. What really sets Pele apart from Mbappé is the greater balance, composure, shooting and passing. Pele will get out on top where Mbappé will lose the ball. Pele also got significantly beter passing. Pele feels as fast as Mbappé, I think its maybe due to the height, Pele is shorter, and the difference "2" in pace is small.
CR7
I like CR7 this year. He is a remarkable finisher and offers more power compared to Pele. CR7 will also win headers at a rate which Pele can't match. However when it comes to pace Pele will leave Cr7 in the dust. Pele is also a way beter dribbler and will get to more scoring chances. This is especially true when fighting in tight games against an equally skilled opponent. Cr7 is easier to read for the opponent. When the chance appear I think they are similar, the difference is that Pele will find more chances and that Pele also can assist teammates at a higher rate with his 88 passing. Pele is a bigger threat in total.
Neymar
A player that has a dribbling similar to Peles. Peles body type differs from Neymars. Neymar is more slender. In my opinion they are very similar when it comes to dribbling with the difference being that Pele actually can shrug off defenders in situation where Neymar would lose the ball. The balance is also in Peles favor. Pele feels faster, stronger and with a similar dribbling compared to Neymar. Pele will also outwork Neymar with Peles beter stamina which in some games could be crucial.
Messi
Every year I pick up Messi. I like him a lot. However Messis top speed will fail him time to time. Pele feels a bit like Messi but with higher pace, significantly beter stamina and oddly the weak foot feels beter as well. The 5 star skills Pele has also sets him apart. The body type is similar though and the dribbling feels a alike. If you like Messi, but really want him to play good as a striker, pele is your man (not waving in on the price difference).
Summary
Pele feels like the best of all the above stated players combined. His dribbling is superb and his shooting rarely fails me. He is also fast as a bullet and will prove a handful for most, if not all, defenders.
He is expensive. Really expensive. Do I Feel like he justifies the price - yes! But I have made the misstake in the past of blowing all coins on one godly player, this doesn't work when playing division 1 and aiming for elite (At least not for me). You need to have a well rounded team around him to win games. I think Pele is a remarkable player this year - if you can you should pick him up.
Maybe you are choosing between [him and Auba, Son, Mertens, Augero, Ben Yedder] or Mbappé + Neymar. Thats a tough choice. I think the two options are similar but I would go for Pele just for the joy and because Pele is more lethal in front of goal, even paired with a "regular striker or CAM" I believe Pele to be the beter option.

I have tried Pele as striker in a 442 formation and as CAM in a 4231. He excels in both positions. I currently like the 442 formation the most.
After having treaded water on whether or not to buy this card for a while, and after having tried most of the top tier attackers on fifa 21 I finally decided to pull the trigger on buying Pelé. This turned out to be a wise decision as he is simply a level above all other cards I have used, including baby Eusebio. I will review him compared to 89 Eusebio who I had for 40 games this fifa, and who I also used for 9 months of fifa 20 after packing him untradeable. 91 Pelé comes at a cheaper price than Eusebio, and this really doesn't seem right in my opinion, as Pelé feels like the superior card in this edition of the game.
In terms of physicality, shooting and pace the two cards feel identical, the thing that puts Pelé apart from Eusebio is the incredible passing and his smoother dribbling with 5 star skills. The meta this year heavily favours 5* skillers, compared to last year when the weak foot was absolutely vital. For me, the shift in meta for this year has put Pelé above baby Eusebio, though an attack starring both would leave defenders scarred for life. I have used Pelé for 76 games now with 108 goals and 62 assists. In terms of skill rating I am in division 1, reaching around elite 3 for weekend league. He really lives up to his card stats, and if you are looking for a game-changing striker I definitely recommend getting 91 Pelé.
Pace 10/10 No-one is catching up to this guy...
Shooting 9.8/10 Only thing missing is the 5 star wf, however he has scored some absolute bangers on his left for me, so it's a nonissue. His positioning and attacking runs are also perfect.
Passing 10/10 Inch-perfect passing.
Dribbling 10/10 Literally perfect.
Physicality: 8.5/10 The most surprising stat here is that with the hawk chem style, his 98 jumping is noticeably in-game. He has scored a couple of headers for me, out-jumping the likes of IF gomez. Obviously you don't buy this card to take physical duels against elite defenders, but even in those situations Pelé can sometimes hold his own.
If we're being picky his cons are that he doesn't have Gullit's strength or a 5 star weak foot, but then again, that'd be a 15 mil card. ¨
This card is the GOAT. Firstly, I was not expecting to EVER pack this card. Pele has been a player that I've wanted since KSI won him from Wroetoshaw back in 2014. This year, after opening only 2 Base Icon packs, I packed this absolute legend. He is the most complete card ever. He's got Pace, Passing, AMAZING Shooting, and Insane dribbling. At first, I didn't know where to play him because I had Neymar, Mbappe, and CR7. I tried him at ST and he was pretty good there but I'd say if you do play him at striker, you need to play another pacey striker right next to him in a 442.
CAM is where he shines the best, especially if you have a lot of other attacking players. He strong links to any Brazilian and any other Icon and gives chemistry wherever you need it. I played him in CAM and LAM because his in game card says he can play at LW. However, he doesn't perform as well on the wings as he does in the center. THE RUNS THAT HE MAKES ARE INSANE. He just knows what to do every time and his passing alone will get you goals. I can only imagine how his 95 version feels but if you pack or buy Pele 91, you will not regret it.
Now on to the chemistry styles. You could try Hawk to boost his aggression because he does lack it sometimes but honestly he is fine without it. Maestro is decent to boost those long shots, passing, and reactions but you hardly notice those changes in game. His best chemistry style that I've used would have to be MARKSMAN. Perfect boosts to his finishing and longshots. Dribbling goes up to 99 and his balance and reactions are already perfect as is. The +10 strength boost along with the +10 jumping boost makes his card unpredictable. He's scored headers at times when I did not expect him to. And with him being 5'8", the strength boost allows him to stay strong when being bullied by hefty midfielders.
All in all, this card is truly the real deal. He is currently 3 million on the market which is fair considering everything listed above. If you pack him in your base icon packs, GG. He will not disappoint you. If you can't figure him out, just give him time. He will prove himself that he is the best footballer to have ever lived.

I used Pele last year and I was not particularly impressed however, this year he is incredible! I am a very average player currently playing in Division 1 where I find it very difficult to consistently win games. Since introducing Pele into my squad that has completely changed! When I say there are no cons I genuinely mean there are no cons, I have not moaned or had a single complaint 20 games into using this card.
All 20 games have been played in Division 1 where he has been playing right side ST next to flashback Robben. Pele has scored 29 goals and has 9 assists and he has most definitely contributed to many more goals just by how incredible this card is.
If you are good with skill moves you will definitely benefit most from this card where I have scored a number of very impressive solo goals despite myself not being very good with skill moves at all!
Pele is most definitely worth the current 3.7 million coin price tag where I can almost guarantee I will never be selling this card.

So I will start by saying my pack luck was honestly insane this year and I wish the same for you guys. After Messi, Neymar (3 times), CR7, Mbappe, KDB, Kante, VVD, Aubam, Pogba 3 times). I decided to do a base icon SBC because of the very good high rated fodders I got from the 25 x 83+ pack. And guess what... Brazil... naaaaah .... CF naaaaaaah ... Pele...

I am a normal player so for me good stats.
This guy is a machine, cheat code. Play him as a CAM or ST and he will be running like a cyborg on the pitch. He is so meta that he wins every battle and every rebound. What I really appreciate with this card is the agility and positioning. He is always in the right place and so agile that you can easily make crazy your opponent with his dribbling. It's difficult to explain but some cards in this game you know they gonna win the rebound every time and Pele is one of them. Game changer for sure.
I recommend you to play him with Hawk as ST if you can or CAM if you already have CR7 / Mbappe like me.
I also noticed something good with this card: when the game play and EA servers are so bad during WL this card still feels very good and not affected like other players in the squad.
Finally I was surprised about his stamina. After 70min I usually change my attack to have fresh players. With him I don't have to change him till the end of the game.
Worth it?
Well we are talking here about 3.7M player, so if you come on this page I guess you already have a very good team and you want to upgrade and improve it with this guy. I can say for me he was definitely better than my Mbappe... yes I said it. If you have the coins and you want a fun/legend card I recommend you to go for him. His price should be 2.8 / 3M.

In the beginning of this year like always we got a base icon sbc, and as always it was overpriced but most of us did it anyway:), I'm thinking you probably know where I'm going with this, I PACKED PELE.
To keep it simple I just want to say that this is a Jack of all trades and a master of none, Not in a negative way because he is an absolute beast but for example if you're looking for a reliable cam who can create and score Cruyff is cheaper and maybe even better, And if you want a Reliable goalscorer Puskas and Eusebio are better. But pele (if you learn how to use him) can become the best base icon in the game for you. His dribbling is endgame level and 5*SM makes it even better, His finishing is Elite but the 4*WF is a letdown at times. His passing is ok for a cam but again there might be better options for the price if you only want him to play cam, physical stats are CRAZY he can head the ball against almost anyone and he's got acceptable stamina. I play with 3-4 different systems and he plays as a ST LW CAM and he's always the best player on the pitch.
Overall i would say that this is one of the most fun cards i've ever used and his unbelievable dribbling and his ability to play different positions makes him the BEST BASE ICONIN MY OPINION
