I have used the likes of Mendy and Hernandez but the one that worked the best for me was Davies. He is rapid and his dribbling and defending are way better than his stats say they are. He plays like he should have 90 defending. He was game changing for me.
He makes great runs up the wing and pulls the defenders out of position giving him the crossing option. I play him so he goes up on attack so he can get those difficult crosses in that other players would not be able to. He plays way better than his stats. Even when I lose the ball and he is upfront he will all be the first person back due that 96 pace which is just amazing. This card has saved me in multiple occasions making great plays defensively and offensively. He is like a young Roberto Carlos in the game.
His aggression gives him the ability to bully defenders of the ball and on to the ground. His pace is remarkable. The 4* Skills and 4* Weakfoot work wonders make him able to leave defenders sitting on the ground. He will pass the fast attacks and defenders. The backbone chem style works the best for that extra passing. You won't need a sentinel on him to make his defending better the passing from him is more important.
Him and Alaba on the left work wonders together making it impossible for defenders to get passed them. When they do the get past the defenders I would recommend Neuer in goal for some amazing saves and 1 on 1 stops.
I'm writing this one week before the tots season is starting. First of all, I'm pretty concerned about EA not making a good LB card from the bundesliga that could be usable and that you can buy at the market at this point of the game, there's only a few that you had to get doing objectives or doing an sbc (Günter FB is the only one you can buy but he's not built for being a fullback, he's more like a CB but shame on you if you do that). Anyways, I've been using Davies since the TOTY season as I packed Kimmich TOTY and couldn't afford Davies TOTY haha but omg what a good player is he, even at this days. Alphonse has more than enough pace to catch up on most of the cheekiest players out there (Neres Showdown, Diatta What If, Atal FB, and many more). He feels really good on the ball, and is also a pretty agile guy. In terms of defending, I mean, at the moment he runs and catches a guy, he just gets the ball on his feet and you can start running to get the attack started and that's when the passing comes up. Using Powerhouse chemistry style you can get a really decent passing (but don't expect it to be flawless).
Sometimes he might be bullied by some players but at the moment that happens, the rival's player had slowed down and your CB will be more than pleased to take revenge for what they've to Davies haha
He's still pretty useful and a pretty reliable player.
I'm a division 1 and elite 3 player, in case you were thinking I'm just a beginner reviewing a bad card xd
- He's incredibly fast (can catch up on almost anyone)
- With powerhouse, his defendig and passing become decent
- He's really good when it comes to create attacking plays
I set up a bundesliga team in January, a very simple team, and the only player who stayed in the team was alphonso, because I tested several left-backs of the bundesliga but none reached the level of Alphonso, his speed makes me not suffer much with the opponents RW, of course as LW he did not meet expectations but, it can not be perfect.
I needed Davies to get chemistry for Moments Boateng. This card looked pretty good on the face of it, with the 96 Pace looking particularly tasty. I didn't expect him to be game-changing, but i was at least hoping for him to be able to hold his own. But it's safe to say i was disappointed. He was by far the weakest point in my team.
Now, he definitely has some positives. His Pace is obviously great, even if it doesn't feel quite like 96. This just doesn't really make up for the fact, that he is ALWAYS out of position. He does catch up sometimes, but more often than not, he's too far forward to have any chance of coming back. If an opponent counters, you can bet on Mr. Davies to be nowhere to be found. The amount of goals and assists i've conceded to Salah, HL Mahrez, FB Ronaldo and FB Robben these past 46 games have been off the scale.
He's actually fine at defending, and his physicality positively surprised me. When he does go back, he usually had no problem muscling the typical RW's off the ball. This is basically nullified by his positioning though.
Now now, i know what you'll say. "But he has H/M workrates, of course he'll get forward a lot". Sure, but that doesn't really explain him thinking he's a CM all of a sudden, leaving the left side completely open.
Contrary to HL Tavernier who's on the right-back, he doesn't contribute with goals or assists either. Tavernier will make up for his H/M workrates with a decent contribution offensively, but Davies only has 1 assist in 46 games. Now, i can remember him being useful in build a few times, and as long as you don't expect him to be Xavi, he's pretty reliable.
Shooting is awful, no need to elaborate.
Pace is fine, albeit maybe a tiny bit disappointing
