This is weird but in reallity no one talks that much about this version of Ronaldinho, so I decided to make the first review of him on Futbin.
I really think that he is kinda a rare icon to pack to be honest.
I bench watched about 50-60 Mid icon packs openings on Youtube and no one managed to pack him, yet 5 or 6 people packed 91 Cruyff who is more expesive and should be more rare by comparison. (Also there is more transfer listings of Cruyff than Ronaldinho on PS, about the double of pages , i don't know, just found it a bit weird.)
Gameplay:
Started in Division 2 again this season and couldnt leave it because of the tryhards flooding the bloody place, I always find it more difficult than Div1 and Elite but then it all changed.
At first I tried to replace Neymar for Ronaldinho on CAM area but I found he is more suited for playing ST with another player besides him.
Dribbling:
He has a bodytype that is a somewhat between the lean and the average bodytype He cannot dance between defenders with the left analog like for a long time like Neymar but he is very effective in shot bursts of directional dribbling, kinda like Fekir, thats why I like him at ST.
His strenght is very noticable, once he starts running at goal it is difficult to take the ball for him and when he starts skilling he almost always gets the skillmove done and continues with the ball, its like he has some special code written for him, idk.
Passing:
Best passer I experienced on the game, similar to my Cantona last year, he waits the timing for the passes and curves the ball vey well, it is special with him.
Shooting:
One of the best, he will finish almost always, i don´t shoot to much outside the area so i don´t know about long shots.
Pace:
One of those players that doesn't feel like a speed demon, his 96 pace with Hawk is not the same as Vini for example. Still he is rapid.
Workrates:
Love his runs, H/L works very well for attacking players and he is always in the right spot.
Stamina:
Looks like his 81 stamina drains faster than Neymar 81 but he can last the 90 minutes if played up top.
If I were to name one appeal that football videogames have for me, I would say that it is the fact that I can use some of the best footballers in history, link them up and let them shine together, even if on a virtual pitch.
So I was more than overjoyed that the time has come for me to be able to afford mid Ronaldinho on FUT 22. I was slowly approaching his price tag of 2 million coins on the market and could already hear a distant sound of samba in my ears. This Brazilian then-wonderkid first caught my eye during 2002 World Cup and instantly ignited my passion for football. And I am convinced that it is the case for not just me, since Ronaldinho inspired the whole generation of youngsters, showing that football can be played with a smile on your face.
So it was my turn to express the gratitude and use Ronaldinho's card in FIFA to the best of my abilities. If I succeeded or not please judge as always from the attached highlights.
I used him in 4-2-2-2 formation as a left striker on false 9 instruction because I really wanted to get him involved in the build-up as well as in front of the goal. And he completely elevated my team, his unpredictibility and flair on the ball bamboozling my opponents. I only wish he had a little bit leaner body type in game and a tad better balance (there is simply no way Ronaldinho in around 2002 was that bulky, I re-watched footage from WC 2002 and Ronaldinho's body was 100% Copacabana level back then). And concerning his balance, I just wish he did not stumble that much when tackled by opponents or while making offensive runs. But I think that is the problem of FIFA in general, players running in straight lines forward even on directed runs, player lock-on being too ineffective to use. My point is that you simply want to see the best players perform in the best way possible.
But did these issues I encountered prevent me from having fun with this card, absolutely not.
First good icon pack pull of the year on the 18th attempt, and oh boy this card doesn't let you down. One of the best finishers in the game, has that ability to somehow keep the ball despite being tackled 3 times and can pick out the perfect pass from miles away. (I'm in the Elite Division so any games spoken about are in Elite at 1950SR). Started him for a few games at CAM, he wasn't having the desired affect (still had 3 goals and 4 assists in 4 games) but something felt strange. Moved him to striker alongside FB Neymar for the last 6 games of the review and he just doesn't miss. 10 goals and another 6 assists in those games.
Great finishing
Passing, both short and long range
Good off-the-ball movement
Smooth dribbler
5 star skills
Weak foot feels just as good as his preferred foot
Weak fot
5 star ski
Possibly stamina, lasts the 90 but if you go to extra time he MAY need to be changed
