FC 24 90 UT Birthday Sakina Karchaoui Player Review - Cop or Flop

I guess it’s true what they say.. There really are plenty more fish in the sea. Because today we have yet another Left Back item in the SBC section. It really feels like they are trying everything they can to move people off of whatever LB is currently favoured with a flashy new thing, but in reality, most people are still rocking Davies/ Havertz/ Bacha in their squad. 

I have mentioned before that they really are missing a mark with these SBCs. If they are going to put two versions of the card into two separate SBCs, then at least make them differ more than just the weak foot and skill moves. But enough negativity, we have a Ultimate Birthday Karchaoui to try out and I suppose answer the question we’re all thinking, will she be the new best Left Back?

As we know, Karchaoui already has a Team of the Year item in game and by no means I think that this card is going to live up to that version, but compared to the triple threat version, this item has a huge +17 shooting, +9 physical and of course two playstyle pluses in Technical and Rapid which in my opinion is already a much better improvement on that triple threat item. It would however have been nice to have the Whipped+ like the TOTY item but she does still have the regular playstyle under her belt.

Straight into the LB position here behind fellow PSG player in Kangin Lee, I figured kill two birds with one stone in an attempt to unlock that Savanier item! For Chemstyle here Anchor is the way forward in my opinion to max out those defensive and physical stats alongside pace also.

This SBC comes in at roughly 625k whilst the skill moves SBC is coming in at just over 700k. So a fair difference in price for the skill moves. It is worthwhile to note that before this card was announced to come, the TOTY version was priced at just over 2 million coins. It now however has dropped to just under 1.3 million coins. So is this card worth half of the TOTY item?

How did she perform in-game?

+ Pace was nice on this card, the rapid playstyle obviously helps a lot here but she was so quick running down that wing.

+ Passing is probably the second best thing about this card, whipped passes, despite not being the playstyle plus, still felt like magic. Then there was the long through balls that just never seemed to miss. Big fan of the passing on this card.

+ Defending is by far the best thing about this card, she was incredibly aggressive and constantly won the ball back for the team. 

+ Finally the dribbling was what you would expect on a card with 91 Dribbling and Technical. She weaved in and out of the opposition with ease and setup some great plays for her side.

Karchaoui - Cop or Flop?

This card is an impressive card for sure, my issue comes back to the fact there are so many left back items in the game. If you somehow have got this far in the game and have not completed Havertz, Bacha or Davies then this card is probably for you. Otherwise I would probably say save your coins. Because dropping 600K+ on a card that isn’t going to have a big difference to your squad.

Verdict = FLOP (unless you don’t own one of the other “meta” left backs).
