Johan’s On this day Flashback Icon arrives into Ultimate Team which the usual downgrade of stats vs his base item, -4 in Pace and Shooting, -5 in Passing, Dribbling and Defending and -3 in Physical, quite the gap.
Cruyff went into the CAM role but can also play as a ST, but given how advanced my CAM is in my set up I felt I was able to test both how he would fair in both roles.
We went with the Hunter chem style to boost the pace and shooting, but an engine is also understandable if you’re using him as just a CAM.

That was A LOT, 15 yes, 15 SBCs.Now I certainly don’t expect EA to give these high rated cards for free but can we just have more high rated squads, and then less squads overall? Sometimes with these SBC’s the annoying part isn’t the cost it's the amount of time to complete.
How did he perform in-game?
It wont come as a shock to anyone when I say the dribbling felt good, a really easy player to use when in possession of the ball.
Through Balls on this Cruyff were excellent, you can see in the footage how effortlessly he slid them though, off either foot too!
Positionally he impressed as well running into channels and just finding good spots of space.
5* / 5* kind of explains itself, so useful.
Physically he was inconsistent, because when he had the ball he was easy to push off it, but when he was off the ball he had the strength to win it back!
88 Cruyff - Cop or Flop?
In terms of a concept, I love this, not everyone is going be able to afford the base Cruyff or at least not for another few months, so for those who loved him as a player its a nice discounted way to still be able to use their hero, However 1 million coins is still a decent chunk. To be fair to EA though they are dropping a lot of upgrade packs, and as long as this continues he could be grindable.
I don’t think this SBC is amazing value for money BUT I definitely don't think it’s as bad as it’s been made out to be.
If you’re good with dribbling you’ll like the card, but if you are not definitely avoid it.
Verdict is Flop, but I do want to stress I really don't think the price is AS BAD as it’s been suggested.
