MARQUEE MATCHUPS

While EA may be extremely unpredictable and requirements very basic, picking up marquee matchup investments for discard is a risk free route we can be taking each and every week. Whether your picking up cards to complete the challenge yourself, choosing selections that have multiple uses or even acquiring cards to sell in any late hype, there will always be some value to be found.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

As usual, we start things off with some of the bigger leagues, and with the form both of these clubs are currently in, it doesn’t get much bigger than this. Arsenal play host to Liverpool for their Premier League clash, and with just two points separating the top 4, everything is to play for. My only concern here is just how frequently Liverpool have been included in challenges already, with the most recent being the Solanke FUTswap item.

Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce

Turkey is our second destination this week, where we find first place Galatasaray playing host to 15th place Fenerbahçe. The name given to this rivalry is The Intercontinental Derby, or as it’s known in Turkey, the “Kitalararasi Derby”. The game features two of the most successful clubs in Turkey, both situated within Istanbul. Investments here should be easy to find for discard, while aiming for gold rarity is the safest route.

Brondby vs Kobenhavn

This is one of those games that features within almost every prediction (when applicable of course). The Copenhagen Derby is a fixture between Brøndby IF and FC Copenhagen, two of the biggest clubs in Danish football. Investments here are nice and straight forward, it’s unlikely that rarity matters all too much, but aim for gold or silvers at discard if possible.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Dynamo Kyiv

Flying across to Ukraine now, where we find a heated derby between Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv. Both clubs have been extremely dominant across the years of Ukrainian football, which is also where this derby began. The match itself has the name “Klasychne Derby”, and Investments here are luckily very straight forward for us.

Panathinaikos vs A.E.K

Our next selection sees two of the larger clubs in Greece going head to head in a heated derby match. Both clubs Panathinaikos and A.E.K are situated in Greece’s capital Athens, which explains the name of this match, the “Athenian Derby”. Again, with marquee matchup requirements being so unpredictable, aim for discard players from both clubs to ensure safety.

Sparta Prague vs Slavia Prague

Luckily for me, this fixture takes very little explaining as the club names do all the talking. The Prague derby features two of Czech footballs most successful clubs, with the rivalry brewing from their geographical locations. With just four points separating Slavia at the top and Sparta in third, this match holds importance on every level. Again, discard, discard, discard, and always consider selling into any hype nearer the event.

Genk vs Club Brugge

Over to Belgium now, and while this match may not be a derby or rivalry as such, with the two clubs holding first and second position in the league, this fixture holds more than enough reason to make the cut. With Genk currently sitting in first with 29 points, and Club Brugge just behind with 26, the winner of this match could claim that top spot and for us, discard investments could make us some profit.

Guangzhou vs Shanghai

Our final selection this week provides us with a route that personally, I really like. With the Chinese super league coming to a close, a fixture between first and second place, with just 2 points separating the clubs, could quite easily make the final cut.
