If you're like me, the only person you wish Kante could play with is another Kante. Look no further than Max Meyer. I play him as a CM in a 4-5-1. Don't let the low overall rating or sprint speed fool you, there are important stats on this card that make him feel great (check pros).
If you have the coins and are looking to Meyer or Kante, take Kante because that card is insane. If you have the cards or almost done with the Prem SBC, you can consider Meyer if you run a Prem or Bundesliga team and want a midfielder who feels rapid and can perform at each stat.
Fernandinho is a similar player, but he is one dimensional as he plays as a defensive midfielder. Eriksen's agility/balance make him feel sluggish. KDB has amazing shot stats but his 78/76 agility/balance makes him feel slower than Meyer. This is where the 94 Agility 93 Balance separates Meyer from a lot of the highest-rated gold Prem midfielders
The main thing about this card is how good he feels on the ball. You won't believe he is an 84 because the way he can turn on a dime and dribble past opponents is icon level. Meyer will not run over a Fabinho, Petit, or a Sissoko, but he can turn, dribble, accelerate and create space to find the open attacker and develop the play. This is the best way to use him.
If you have Meyer in your club waiting to use him in an SBC, I recommend you sub him in a few games so you can feel it for yourself. I can't say he becomes your end game CM but I will say his dribbling is the reason I wrote this review. If this sounds like your style of play, give it a shot!
- 94 Agility & 93 Balance - he drinks a lot of coffee or sum because he is rapid
- 90 Acceleration & 95 Stamina - smash that sprint button yo
- 89 Positioning - rarely feels 'lost' on the field. makes his presence known
- 99 Aggression - really makes up for low tier defensive stats. allows him to strip the ball, turn quickly, and provide the outlet pass.
- 4* 4* - you know you know
- Passing is great - will make a lot of assists and have plenty of touches
- You have to do the prem SBC which gives low tier packs
- 66 Strength - can sometimes get knocked off the ball by large defenders, but that's only if you let them get close enough. Meyer has the capability to keep the distance.
- Gets lost if you switch him to a CDM. Ndidi would be better to defend, but his dribbling stats don't compare to Meyer
- Med/Med work rates - would have liked High/Med but using him as a CM has helped because it allows him to be in open space or strip the ball in the midfield
just finished the BPL SBC at no cost (bought players for around 50k and got back 50k in packs plus Meyer).
Wanted to write a quick review for all who are not sure which player to pick (but actually very easy since nobody wants a CB with 60s composure. lol )
I smashed a Shadow on him same as i did for Kante. Kante is my most favorite player in fifa 20. He is a game changer. all over the pitch. bulling any player off the ball. no matter how fast, how strong how good. and he does this for 90/120 minutes. just insane.
so i was looking for a long time for another guy like Kante in BPL ( Naingolan is similar but not BPL).
So i took Meyer. And now i played him 4-5 games. And i have to say....... YES. baby Kante is born :-)
his is very similar. fast. agile. bad bad bully. amazing stamina would give hikm a 90% Kante rating. He will stay in my starter squad for a while i am sure.
