Morgan Sanson is an unbelievably cheap card, with a lot of potential to become worth more. I use him on a newly created second account (1 month, infrequent play), in a 90k coins team. He is capable of dribbling with the ball and holding it for a good amount of time, therefore I play him as a box-to-box CM in a 4-4-2 formation, with standard Sissoko playing as a holding midfielder. It is important to have a faster holding midfielder as Sanson's mid/mid work-rates mean he might not come back on defence as fast as needed, although I found Sissoko capable of holding for the amount of time needed. I also use him in a 4-2-3-1 in the same squad, with both CDMs set to Stay Back While Attacking. He is defensively capable and strong, and performs like a bby RTTF Allan. He is capable of taking the ball straight back after being challenged, and is able to stay standing during challenges.
Reviews of stats:
Fast enough with an Anchor. Can make forward runs and also doesn't let attackers run past him
Acceleration also feels good
Shooting is use-able but not special
If Sanson finds a good position inside the penalty area, he will score, but edge of the box shots or shots without enough space might be saved/off-target.
Scores frequently for a CM in rivals (division 5)
Sanson never makes mistakes in passing, unless the player makes an error
Good vision, sometimes passes for me if i mis-aim
Sanson's dribbling stats make him extremely capable of going forwards, being able to turn and control the ball means he can find space in the final third and pass to a striker.
His composure and reactions have not noticeably caused any issues
Sanson is able to consistently tackle and come away with the ball, accurate and recovers quickly from mistimed or misplaced tackles
Sanson frequently intercepts passes when played as a holding midfielder in 4-2-3-1
Sanson is strong with an anchor, and can recover quickly from a challenge and often win the ball straight back
Rarely gets shoved off the ball
Weak foot / Skills
Sanson's 4*/4* combination makes him extremely useable in the final third, as he is capable of shooting with both feet (although nothing special), and has a good capability of dribbling past/around players, or into space.
Sanson is a very good card, with good potential to become higher rated. He performs like a lower-tier RTTF Allan, who I use on my main account in the same roles (box-to-box CM in 4-4-2, holding CDM in 4-2-3-1).
Buy him while he is cheap (<30k on PS4)
Can dribble and shoot to an extent with both feet
Huge potential to become special, maybe could be worth near 100k in the future
Mid defensive work rate means he may not come back from attack as fast as expected
Shooting is decent but not special, but that is to be expected from a <30k CM card
I have his 82 IF on my First Owner Ligue 1 squad so i picked the HL to test and because i felt it has potential to be good if he can improve to an 86-87 or higher. I tested him for 16 games at CDM and also CAM with different chem styles, Anchor when playing CDM and Hawk/Engine while playing CAM.
Pace: It's ok with a Hawk or Anchor and really needed if you want him to keep up with other players, if you want him as a CDM to just cover some ground and not test his speed vs the opponent or a CAM that can create chances, then it won't be a problem for you. You're not gonna like him if you want speed.
Shooting: With Hawk his shooting is good but not great, he can score but not as much as you expect. Without a boost it's really poor.
Passing: That's where he shines. No matter where he played his passing was always on point. Great at CDM to start a counter attack and solid at CAM to feed the wingers/striker. The only problem in this area is his curve skill, if you're a finesse shooting guy you'll notice that, which adds up to his shooting review.
Dribbling: You really notice he's not the most agile player in the world without the Engine boost, if you have a defender closing in he'll often lose the ball as he won't react fast enough to keep possession, with an Engine it gets better but then you'll miss on shooting or defensive boosts, which will hurt him a lot.
Defense: Not a bad CDM with an Anchor boost, he can cover some ground and get the job done but in the end there are loads of cheaper options in the market who can deliver the same quality or even better.
Physical: Anchor/Hawk make him good but Stamina is a problem, big problem. If you're looking for a CAM that helps the defense a little or a CDM that goes up, he'll be useless after 60-65 minutes. If you play him on Stay Back or Stay Forward then it's ok.
Final Grade: 6.5/10 - He has potential to be solid if he can get a boost, especially if he can get more agile, it's a cheap investment with room to pay off but who won't top any other similar player available now.
