I was surprised to see this card around only 50k on the transfer market. I don't know if it's because of high pack weight due to being low rated, linkability issues or simply that the card isn't attractive enough. Either way it seemed too low and I decided to try it out since it fit my team quite nicely.
Kehrer looks like a card that simply ticks all of the boxes, meaning that he is good in every stat important for a central defender, fairly tall and has appropriate workrates. 82 pace with 86 defending is nothing special at this stage of the game, but it's his abilities on the ball that excites me. 87 short passing and 5* weak foot is very useful when playing out of the back, and 89 composure, 79 ball control and 85 stamina means you can be comfortable doing so for the entire 90 minutes.
The problem is of course to fit him into a squad on full chemistry. In Ligue 1 you're pretty much relying on PSG, SBC cards or icons, with a few exceptions. I solved it by playing 3412 linking him with Neymar and Ter Stegen. If you can fit him in, even on 8 chem, I would recommend giving him a go. At 50k, you don't have much to lose. I was surprised when I used him, and actually changed my squad to be able to keep him for at least one more week. He is not the first on the team sheet, but definitely not the last.
I've got to say, even though his links aren't the best, this boy is really under-priced for how good is. I won't go into detail on his stats, you can read those for yourselves, but I will say that they reflect the way he plays in game - a quick, composed, ball-playing defender.
What I think is useful for me to say, and also the biggest compliment I can offer, is that I play him as one of 3 CBs with VVD and Prime Rijkaard and I honestly don't feel that much difference between them all. Yes, I don't have quite as many moments with him where it's like 'SMASH! Takes the ball' but nor do I have many moments where he is found wanting or where I feel as though he's let me down/is missing something. He's especially good in a back 3 or d due to his ability to play that ball, and he has the pace (played with anchor) to track and dispossess all but the very fastest wingers if they get into the channels.
Overall, he's a great defender with no obvious weaknesses. In my opinion if he was in the prem he'd be going for about 300k on Xbox, but even if Ligue 1 he should be at least 3 times his current price (50k ish).
Pace
Tackling
Ability on/to play the ball
5* weak foot
All round composure
If you want to be picky, maybe strength if up against Adama or Haaland. The aggression boost from anchor resolves that when tackling, but he may still get shrugged off when shoulder to shoulder.
