Man Like Fabinho!
By fifahacker, 30-06-2020

Hi Guys, This is one of my first reviews on Futbin. Hope you like it! I'll make the review concise and accurate (we only have a day I believe before the sbc ends so I'm gonna release it soon) so it'll help you quickly make a decision on if you wanna do him or not.

Let's begin: So, I did this guy mainly due to the links he offers (Brazil & PL). He seemed like a very good holding CDM on paper so as to speak. And he lived upto it. I've played 8 games with him currently as a CDM (alongside Prime Essien - check out my squad on Futbin that I've attached). He's a very tall player (6'2") capable of winning headers without breaking a sweat. His pace is good enough already at 86 but you could use an engine to boost it further like me to 91. With this he turned into an absolute monster capable of doing anything in midfield from defending like a pure rock to being a silky passer and hence do both - make or break plays. His shooting is decent (at least the shot power which is evident and he's capable of beating the GK in a 1v1). His passing is very neat allowing him to do smooth threaded throughs and long passes which I find reassuring even though he's a CDM. His dribbling is decent nothing to be excited about but he can control the ball very well (Takes long touches). He doesn't have top notch agility and balance but with an engine they sure are upgraded enough to be visible in game. However, due to his tall stature and lanky body he did fall sometimes when a very strong opponent bodied him. His 2 main areas where he excels at is defending and physical which are already good enough so no point in boosting them imo. He makes excellent interceptions and tackles (good enough to stop kent at least haha). He also feels like an unsurpassable mountain as he bullies the opponents with his physique.

I'd honestly advise you to do him as he is a very good end game cdm. It's a must for anyone who's looking for a brazilian/pl cdm. I've heard that a lot of people want to try him out at CB but that would mean that you are not making the full use of him stamina since he's got that in abundance. I just believe that he'd shine at CDM so that's where he should be used.

  • Pace - very good for a cdm
  • Passing - very xavi-esque if its on his strong foot
  • Height - (6'2") is good enough to win you headers
  • Defending - an absolute tank
  • Physical - bullies everyone regardless of who there are
  • Price - 140-150k on all consoles and pc is a bargain for such a player
  • Chance of an upgrade - he could turn into the perfect monster if Liverpool beat City (which is likely). This would boost him to a 95 rated card.
  • Work Rates - perfect for a holding CDM imo.
  • Shooting - exceptional for a CDM
  • Weak Foot - 3* wf is not admirable in midfield but he's a cdm and I usually pass to the sides with him so not really too bothered
  • Lankiness - sometimes he can fall down if a strong opponent like SH Zlatan brushes him - I find it irritating
  • Idk I'm lost for words - been sitting here for 5 min but I can't come up with any thing else

Brazilian Mad Lad
By blurrijs, 30-06-2020

So, Fabinho, Fabinho, Fabingooo.. This guy is an absolute mad lad. I'm not the greatest player, or the greatest defender by any means, but this guy is something special. I used Fabinho in a 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 4-2-2-2. In all of these formations he was switched to the right CB (started CDM for full-chem) . I applied a shadow chemistry style on him, as I had one in the club, and it was untradeable. I genuinely think, that Fabinho is one of the best CBs in the game, and for his price (~145-150k if you buy all players from the market), he is the best. He has good links - nation, club, league. That makes it easy for anyone to put him in their team. He has the perfect workrates for a CDM/CB which are M/H. About his in-game performance. He is really fast, has great strength, stamina to last the whole game, defensive stats for days. He bodies people off the ball, even the fast and tiny midgets who are META AF. Personally, I didn't notice his high 70s agility and balance to be a issue at CB, but for CDM you might want to use the engine chemistry style. His passing is really good, he didn't misplace any passes. The only thing I haven't tested out yet, is his shooting, but from the stats it looks to be decent, but IMO he still shouldn't be the guy pushing up the field - he is the ROCK, keeping midfield / backline clear from sweaty midgets. I don't really have a comparison for his card, its pretty nutty if I may say so myself. I can't even imagine, how good his card would be with a +3 OVR increase, if Liverpool manage to beat City. TL;DR - If you can fit him in your team, and have the budget to do him - DO HIM.

The Champion's CDM!
By futprof, 30-06-2020

A CDM that befits the Premier League Champions! Lets make this one short and juicy: since the price is so low Fabinho is an absolute no brainer - even if he should not get the upgrade. His stats are basically perfect and the only real things hes missing are agility/balance and a bit of pace - here comes the engine! Surely many would suggest using a shadow because this is FIFA20 and that's what we do here, but if you have enough confidence in your defensive capabilities an engine should be enough. He does not need the defensive boost, thats for sure: this guy pushes off anyone at any time, the animations he chooses for tackling are almost always perfect and you won't see him gliding through an enemy missing out on the ball (yes Upamecano I'm talking to you). He really needs an upgrade for pace, can't deny that. But what he also needs is the dribbling boost, which will make him soar left and right in the defensive area like a butterfly! I really recommend doing this guy because he is an absolute beast even as a 92 version. God behold if he gets the upgrade...

FIFA 19 Flashback?

Hello, and welcome to another one of my reviews.

Upon seeing that this card will be released as a Summer Showdown along with Phil Foden, I had a dilemma- do I, as a City fan, do Foden first or do I go along with my nostalgia for just how much of a beast Fabinho was in Fifa 19. As many gamers that played the car-crash that Fifa 19 was can relate, Fabinho was one of the most broken, if not the most broken CDM's in the game back then- he was tall enough to counter the corner kick header meta, and swift and strong enough to cancel out the la croqueta span that was rife that year. Nevertheless, new game, new meta, and after the first couple of months, Fabinho was ruthlessly discarded by most of the playerbase as 'clunky'and replaced by the ever-annoying, energetic pestillience that is N'golo Kante in-game. I did his SBC to see whether he would live up to his greatness in Fifa 19, and the results were kinda suprising to say the least. This card has a lot of suprising pros, but unfortunately has a few cons that may limit his usuability in this meta.

Pace:8.5:10

This card was never going to be one of the speed demons of this game, which is mostly caused by his bodytype, High and Average+. With Engine, these stats go up to 89 Acceleration and 92 Sprint Speed, so he isn't exactly slow, just don't expect him to run around like Kante with a Shadow.

Shooting:7.5/10

I have to admit that I didn't really shoot much with him yet, mostly because I have him on Stay Back While Attacking tactics. However, I did place him in a more attacking position for a couple of games just to see how that part of his game looked like. While he did only get one goal, his shooting actually suprised me with its consistency as he'd always hit the target, sometimes even with his 3*WF, which unfortunately relegates his shooting score. 99 Penalties is a nice asset that can be very useful from time to time.

Passing:9.5/10

This card does, however, have the Midas Touch when it comes to passing. 99 Long Pass and 99 Short Pass with Engine clearly showed while using this card. His majestic through-balls and sprayed passes across the pitch were really effective and added an extra tone of suprise for me as he wasn't really a good pass master for me. Even though he didn't get a single assist for me, his vision started a lot of counter attacks that did eventually end up as a goal. A great assest in midfield in terms of the quality of his passing.

Dribbling:8/10

The Engine chemistry style did solve most of the problems with Fabhino's dribbling, but not all of them. Although 82 Agility and 87 Balance didn't cause me problems while using Fabinho, the bodytype did. High and Average+ is simply not the bodytype that is situated to dribbling in tight spaces. This is important to note, as this player can not be used in the same way that, say, Kante is used (aka to spin around until you wriggle off the opponent). Apart from that, Fabinho's dribbling is really good, and 99 Ball Control with Engine is exquisite. 3*SM does limit him, but it was to be expected.

Defending:10/10

98 Interceptions is the thing that IMO makes this card an elite CDM/B2B/CB. He really has those spidery, VVD-esque legs that suddenly snatch the ball while the befuddled opponent warily looks on. 96 St. Tackle and 95 Sl. Tackle make sure that this card has the tackling smoothness of the likes of VVD and FB Boateng. 93 Def. Awareness make him at the righ place, at the right time. A great defensive force. Ironically, it's the bodytype that limits him in other areas that makes him into such a defensive beast

Physical:10/10

95 Agression and 98 Stamina. These stats will ensure that your Fabinho will chase down your opponent until he will have enough and just give up. An absolute tank of a player, who will intimidate just about every player on the pitch. 90 Strength feels like 99 as he can effortlessly muscle practically everyone off the ball.

Major flaw in Pace: Bodytype

Major flaw in Shooting: 3*WF

Major flaw in Dribbling: Bodytpe

Biggest flaw: He NEEDS a partner to play with. He would be a disaster to use as a single CDM.

Conclusion: Great card, but just not as good as he was last year

So here's my review. I feel a touch of sadness as to the fact that IMO he doesn't live up to what he was last year. He is still really good, and I would say to go ahead and do him. He might get upgraded as I'm sure Liverpool would want to celebrate their title win in style. As a City fan, I hope City will win, even though an upgraded Fabinho would be fantastic. I am sure that a lot of people may ask this question: Why don't you do Foden. My answer is: Fabinho was my warrior last year and I wanted to 'honour him' in a way- and I already have El Mago. It'd be a bit stupid to replace him with his literal real-life replacement.

TL;DR:Great card, but no FIFA 19 Flashback.

Anyway- Thanks for reading:)

P.S: I'll post my Squad in the comments.

A very complete CDM
By daizenmaedagodofwar, 11-08-2020

So I picked Fabinho up to replace my outdated Sissoko, who was playing alongside PIM Gattuso at CDM. I had sacrificed some players from my club into the SBC but it was all worth it looking back on his recent performances. In game he feels more active than Sissoko and Gattuso, and almost plays as a box-to-box CDM, which is good as my wingers are on stay forward, meaning a huge gap is left in the field, now taken up by Fabinho. His tackling is pretty good but sometimes lunges in blindly and misses the ball, which is annoying. His presence on the pitch is very great most of the time but is sometimes nowhere to be seen, either playing as a CB or a ST. His passing is very good and with a small boost could really benefit his performance. His pace is quite slow for this stage of the game, but with an engine will be boosted so you don't really need to worry. His shooting is surprisingly very good for somebody in his position and his long shots (mostly finesses) are outstanding from just outisde the box. His dribbling isn't vital but with the engine mentioned earlier you could boost that if you want a Gullit Gang type player. However, recently I have acquired Federico Valverde RTTF from the SBC and Fabinho is still fighting for his spot in the team. W
