It's easy to blame goalkeepers for gifting easy goals on FIFA 21, but what I have experienced with every version of Neuer is beyond me. The main problem with him is that he has these weird animations were he tries to save the ball without diving (he stands still trying to emulate that save he did against CR7). Now I appreaciate that EA has put that into the game, but when he does that every single time instead of diving to save a ball ball that goes less than a meter away from him is frustrating to say the least. Not to mention when balls go beneath him when the rival has the ball near it's feet and go past you.
Bottom line is he is not good at saving low and medium height shots, for the price he is, pretty underwhelming. EA should realize that while it's nice that they did an homage to that save, that animation just makes him unusable when he is giving away goals your average goalkeeper should save. Unfortunately he is the only "good" goalkeeper from the Bundesliga so if you are going for a Bundesliga team like myself you pretty much have no much options available (besides HL Hradecky maybe)

When I packed him out of a 25x83 pack I was a little bit skeptical about his performance (seeing the multiple bad reviews that were published here), but I have to say that after the 10th match that I have used him, and after applying the glove chemstyle, he has really become a true GOD in goal. His handling, his reflexes and his footplay are all god-tier. However, I must say that some animations are a little bit weird and could let in some goals.

This man is honestly the best keeper in that game. He makes very wierd saves that just are needed in that state of the game. I'm not making you hear something that you want to hear, i am just saying the truth. The truth is that this man is the best keeper in this game after Ederson and Courtois. He is even better than his TOTY. Believe me please please please dont buy his team of the year, get this version for much much cheaper price and he is way way way better. These words are from a Division 2 and Gold 2 player in Rivals and FUT CHAMPS. Please get advised and dont buy his TOTY, buy his TOTS instead.

I wanted to change my backline for a while now, I was using RTTF Oblak who was incredible for me but my CB's were starting to age with all the new fast players coming out. So I did Tapsoba and Roussilon and linked them to TOTS Neuer.. but oh my god do I regret it. As pointed out in another review, he has a custom save animation (that one fisted save he made against CR7) but he consistently does it instead of simply diving, so he never moves. He is fast off his line so I will give him that but he also never catches the ball and he always does these low saves where he never accurately catches it. I have never had these problems with Oblak, or any other goalkeeper for that matter, I sold him after 10 games where I won a majority in spite of him and not because of him. Very frustrating, buy Sommer, HL hradecky or even Burki instead imo. I am a Bayern fan so seeing one of my idol's perform so frustratingly for me is annoying.

I bought him near the end of the game in July because I needed to upgrade my keeper. Bear in mind that at this point he was around 60k so he was a cheap solution. I had previously used 89 gold Manuel Neuer and was somewhat satisfied with him. To start, this guy is very good when it comes to 1v1 situations and I would say 70% of the time he saves 1v1s. He also is very good at being sweeper keeper considering he practically invented that goalkeeping style. When it comes to corners he is amazing. He always comes out and punches the ball away. Besides all of this though, there are some downsides to this card. FIrst of all his animations as many of other people have mentioned. He always tries to do the save he did against Ronaldo where he bends down on one knee, which is very frustrating because most of the time it doesn't work. Another downside is he never saves finesse shots. He always stands still and just watches the ball go past him which of course he never saves (obviously). The last downside which I have seen is that he messes up passes a lot when playing out from the back such as mis-kicking the ball or passing straight to the opposition. I would recommend him if you have a Bundesliga or German team. If not you can go for other alternatives that are cheaper. However Neuer is still a top level keeper just with frustrating animations.

I packed him from the 83x25 pack and decided to try him out, he's playing on 8 chem so that might affect his performance by a little, I used to have Ederson and I think he is better but I submitted Ederson into an SBC.
Great at saving 1 on 1s and close-range shots, good enough passing for a goalkeeper
Bad at saving pens (even when dived the correct way and bottom corner shot he cannot save), sometimes let some easy shots go past him and not that quick
