Ligue 1 TOTS Predictions FIFA 23

The final of the big 5 TOTS predictions is of course Ligue 1 and it doesn’t fail to disappoint with expensive options wherever you look. Headlined by PSG while Lens also have their heavy input on the Ligue 1 TOTS.

Brice Samba - GK - 74 > 90 OVR

With the Ligue 1 shortlist likely to see Lopes be the biggest name it gives the chance to Samba, who fully deserves this spot. Lens’s defense has been superb, conceding just 28 goals from their 36 matches played. The only reason Samba has no IF’s to date is the fact he is silver. Let's hope he wins the vote here as he has been the best-stopper by some distance.

Przemyslaw Frankowski - RWB - 76 > 91 OVR

Lens have been the surprise package in Ligue 1 this season, currently sitting in third they look destined to secure at least Champions League qualifiers. As for selecting the TOTS options Lens will inevitably receive a couple but there are no clear-cut options. They obtain the best defensive record in the division though suggesting we could see some there and Frankowski has also chipped in with eight attacking returns.

Marquinhos - CB - 88 > 95 OVR

We have already seen some debatable choices from the TOTS selections simply for FIFA purposes. I think Marquinhos is 50/50 on performances alone so I can’t see him missing out on the eventual side with how they are selected. PSG have the third-best defence in the division with Marquinhos being at the sole of it.

Nuno Mendes - LB - 80 > 92 OVR

Nuno Mendes has shown exactly how good he can be this season being among the best players in the division despite being a 20-year-old LB. Only Neymar and Messi manage to outdo the Portuguese defender when it comes to L’equipe’s average ratings. An easy selection for this side.

Marco Verratti - CM - 87 > 96 OVR

With Ligue 1 looking to have several unfamiliar names within the shortlist for the voting stage when it comes to a fan vote Verratti is likely to stand out. The Italian is severely underrated season by season and is 4th in the average rating list so he wouldn’t be an undeserving selection.

Seko Fofana - CM - 81 > 93 OVR

Under similar circumstances to Verratti, Fofana is a recognisable name among the community due to how good his card has been during previous FIFA’s. While his cards have not kicked off as much during FIFA 23 should he make his way into TOTS he will become a very expensive and popular card once again. With four goals and four assists alongside his usual defensively solid performances, he stands a good chance of making this side.

Teji Savanier - CM - 81 > 93 OVR

Having received a TOTS item in three of the past four seasons Savanier’s importance for Montpellier cannot be understated. The Frenchman looks set for yet another inclusion after he has managed ten goals and two assists from the center of the park. Montpellier look set to finish in the bottom half of the table making Savanier’s performances even more impressive

Neymar - CAM - 89 > 97 OVR

It’s almost an identical situation for the Neymar selection from season to season. The Brazilian is always in doubt for the minutes he plays but while on the pitch he is phenomenal and the numbers he records still compete with the league's best despite playing ten or so games less every time. Would it be a Ligue 1 TOTS without Neymar? I don’t think so

Lois Openda - ST - 87 > 94 OVR

Several strikers can feel hard done by for missing out on Ligue 1 TOTS with Balogun, Diallo and Openda all being three who could miss out on the award. I simply couldn’t ignore Openda though the Belgian has carried Lens offensively with 18 goals and 3 assists, picking up three IF’s and a POTM in the process.

Kylian Mbappe - ST - 91 > 97 OVR

PSG’s attack is something you would expect on an all-stars side so it’s no surprise that they have recorded 17 more goals than any other side in the division. Mbappe currently leads the golden boot race having scored 28 goals thus far and with just a few games remaining he is the heavy favourite to end up with the accolade.

Lionel Messi - ST - 91 > 98 OVR

Where Messi will be next season is still up for debate, but the Argentinian has done a job for PSG this season. With both 15 goals and 16 assists he obtains the highest goal contribution numbers in the division. With the majority of his matches coming from the ST role it looks as though we will receive a central version too, goodluck affording this one.

Substitutes

Jonathan Clauss - RWB - 80 > 90 OVR

Marseille’s form over the second half of the season has been phenomenal. They lead the form charts over the past 20 matches which has helped them rise to second in Ligue 1. Clauss is no stranger to Ligue 1 endgame sides having received a TOTS card in both FIFA 21 and 22. This is his first campaign for Marseille but it’s the same Clauss.

Chancel Mbemba - CB - 79 > 90 OVR

Despite Marseille looking likely to finish second when it comes to TOTS inclusions I seriously struggled. They simply have to feature in what has been a successful season for them. Defensively they have excelled, hence the two defensive inclusions. Mbemba is the second having added four goals alongside the second-best defense in the league.

Facundo Medina - CB - 76 > 93 OVR

Medina has regularly received high match ratings from L’equipe and under similar circumstances to Frankowski looks to be one of the better defensive options. Medina has the additional benefit of being a fan favourite among the FIFA community so should he make the shortlist, which I believe he will, he should end up making the final side.

Enzo Le Fee - CDM - 75 > 90 OVR

Onto the less overpowered cards, we have Le Fee. The Lorient CDM has been solid throughout and his attacking returns have made him stand out with both five goals and five assists. He is among the highest average-rated L’equipe and Whoscored options standing out in an average Lorient side.

Remy Cabella - CAM - 74 > 89 OVR

You have to look back to FIFA 14 to find the last Cabella TOTS inclusion but now nine years later the Frenchman could pick up another. Cabella has shown his class and experience for Lille this season who look set to sneak into the European positions, scoring seven and assisting another nine.

Alexandre Lacazette - ST - 81 > 93 OVR

Lacazette has been incredibly consistent throughout the current Ligue 1 campaign with twenty goals to his name so far. From those twenty goals he has only scored more than once on two occasions with the Frenchman’s goal consistency being one of the main reasons Lyon can push for European qualification.

Jonathan David - ST - 79 > 94 OVR

There are several strikers with crazy numbers recorded in Ligue 1 this season, making the decision difficult regarding TOTS. Outside of the obvious partnership David should be next in the pecking order having scored twenty and assisted another four. The Canadian has also received four IF’s this season showing how deadly he has been.
