As I knew from the beginning of this FIFA that even his gold card is OP, I needed to try him out after getting bored of using Mbappe.
I never used a better ST in value of coins than this Malen (approx. 100k on XBOX)!
He is literally not able to get caught in a sprint.
With sniper his dribbling is better then Mbappe‘s (especially bis Balance).
His shooting is really similar to Mbappe‘s whats also OP as fuck.
Also he comes with an amazing physicality in relation to his pace with 85 strength and 87 stamina.
His workrates M/M are making him even more perfect if you like a balanced bild-up, so he gets never out of position.
Even his passing is better than average for a striker.
There is no disadvantage on this card, if you can handle with strikers who just have 3* weak foot. But don‘t be scared because of this. He will also score goals with his left as long as they are inside the box. Just don‘t shoot form outside the box with his left.
If EA gives headers a try at any day, his 94 heading could be an surprising extra as well.
So I will never ever sell him as long as I can‘t afford R9 or something else.
IMO he is better than all Gold strikers on the market, expect CR7 in terms of positioning.
I still can't believe that this card only cost around 35-40k. just by looking at his stats, you wouldn't think that he would be priced this low.
PACE- He is quick and i mean REALLY quick but, the downside is that it doesn't feel like 97 pace but he's still really quick, feels like 93 or so pace.
SHOOTING- His shooting is really good. With a sniper chem style it boost his finishing to a 99. He finishes anything inside the box, the only downside with his shooting is his weak foot, but if you get it to his right foot, he usually finishes nearly everything if you put it on the plate for him. His positioning is decent, nothing special but gets the job done.
PASSING- His passing is the one im not impressed by, but im not suprised. short passing is alright, but i would never try to attempt a long pass or a through ball when using him.
DRIBBLING- He feels good on the ball, nothing special but decent. Feels really agile and with a sniper chem style it boost his agility to a 99. His compossure is not really good, indeed it's poor and you can totally feel his low composure in game.
PHYSICAL- He feels strong in game, can push off some defenders, and Can last the whole game without being tired with his 87 Stamina.
This is my first review on a player ever so, there might be some errors on the review here and there but i will work on it on a future player review.
One of the fastest players I've ever tried in fifa. I make Gold 2. If you want to run against it this is your man. He crosses it incredibly. Very good with the right leg. It reaches balls that you thought were lost.
I have Richarlison Tots on my team and I prefer Malen to run on the counter attack. If you lock yourself back and want to run don't hesitate to buy Malen.
You can chemistry with Koeman 88, Seedorf 85, Gullit if you are rich, or Van Dijk.

You're probably wondering why I've titled this 'a rare EA blessing' so let me tell you the story of how I discovered the most BROKEN (and I use that word extremely rarely on this game) striker in this entire game. So it all began with an 84-91 rare player pack. At first, I was excited to get this guy as I really needed a super sub as my club is just simply rinsed of players and I didn't want to waste such a good looking player. This is when I discovered Mr. Donyell Malen is one of my most favourite players I've ever used. So, let's get down to the analysis.
I'll start with the GPG and APG (all games except 1 were played in fut champs and he came off the bench for all. He scored A F**KING HAT-TRICK in that 1 rivals game in case you were wondering) 14 games, 10 GOALS and 3 assists. So as you can evidently see, this guy likes to score goals. I have the sniper chemistry style on him (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and play him in a narrow 4-1-2-1-2 in game with 87 Crespo up top (another INSANE PLAYER). I use the sniper as it boosts his already incredible shooting stats and makes his agility and balance almost Messi-like. Now, let's move on to the positives and (very, VERY minor) negatives of this card.
I geniunely could sit here all day and go into an in-depth analysis of his positives but that would bore both me and you so I'll keep it in a nice list form for you good sir and also have it on the positive tab just below this text. So, here's his positives; pace, finishing, dribbling, runs behind defenders, agility and balance. So yeah, his guy is pretty much perfect! Unfortunately there is one very minor negative with this guy and that is he only a 3* WF but he's right footed which sorta makes up for it but genuinely this guy will only ever use his strong foot, plus HE DON'T MISS.
So, wrapping up this review, I think you should definetely go and get this guy if you have 20-25k sitting around and want a cheap super sub! I'm a big PSV fan. I don't go to every game, but when I have time I sometimes go to the stadium. so the moment I saw that grinding was in the second team of future stars, I knew for sure, "I'm going to try this man in the weekend league".
if you look at his card, one thing is immediately obvious, his photo. just kidding. his pace, so I also expected that he would be a player who can just send you deep and tap the balls in quietly. but this was not the case.
because he doesn't really feel ingame at all that is weird because he just has fantastic pace stats, but something just made sure he didn't feel that fast. Sure he is faster than most defenders but if you had let me play with these times without saying how much pace he would have I would estimate it around 90.
In the beginning I was talking about how I expected you to be able to play with him, give a pass and finish quietly. now I have to say that he cannot finish that calmly with him, due to his composition. if pressure is put on him by a player of the opposing party and you want to shoot at that moment, he is guaranteed to go over or beside and since you cannot shoot with his left leg, this is very annoying. I also noticed that he missed a lot of 1 to 1 situations because of his composition.
against that his dribbling is really phenomenal, he feels so fluent and with his good passing stats he can sometimes play as a cam when he sinks back. this brings me to the next downside of this card, his WR, because with a player that is so fast, or should be yes, it is horribly annoying if he gets stuck or stays behind the defender every time you want to send him deep. walk. this is perhaps the most annoying thing about this card. it is just not often easy to play by the WR. to prevent this I played him a few pots on cam but this also just didn't work because of his bad weak foot and not super good passing stats.
all in all it is a player who can be fun to use .... if you can find a playing style that fits. but if you are a player who takes the game very seriously and want to get a good result every weekend in the WeekendLeague, then this is not your card.
