let me guess, you are here because you packed a duplicate TOTSSF untradeable like i did and you needed an SBC to put him into. You came to the right place, this man is a freak. I had been using Ter Stegen for a long time and sold him when i packed TOTSSF Courtois, and man that was a mistake. Courtois was an absolute garbage keeper and he made me want to cry, and to make matters worse i packed him in my guaranteed TOTSSF pack duplicate untradeable. I was about to put him into a Two Rare Gold Players pack when i saw that De Gea Moments was out. i decided to put him into that and was just barely able to scrape enough players to do the SBC. As soon as i did him and put him in my team my entire life changed just like that. He makes absolutely incredible saves compared to that shitty Courtois i had to play with. He saves 9/10 1-on-1s due to the Save With Feet trait and he can stop balls from some insane angles. Ive used almost every goalkeeper from Moments Ter Stegen, to TOTSSF Courtois, to even TOTY Alisson, and this guy destroys all of them. MUST DO 10/10
Saves with feet trait very useful for 1v1s
Actually puts in 100% unlike every other keeper
Handling
Everything really
Has had one or two retard moments where he just falls to the ground instead of diving
Let's start with the name - Ter Stegen. He was my brick wall. After my move to Prem in January, I've been on the hunt for his successor. Gold De Gea filled that role nicely for quite awhile until last month. The upgrades to shooting left him helpless. He was stiff and would not cut off near post properly.
It got bad enough, I went and got Yashin 94 for 450k. Badass in goal, but expensive. Next week I landed Lloris IF in an upgrade pack and he was a pleasant surprise so cut Yashin.
You could imagine the excitement when I saw this card! My initial Prem savior with an upgrade to max out his positioning. Aka cover that near corner! I beat everyone to it, so got a great price and even made some back buying up his gold cards to resell. It wasn't more than 10 minutes into the first match that I knew it was a poor investment. He was the same De Gea. Stiff as a board and slow to react near post. My only theory is his optimal positioning in-game is simply off from what he can cover nearside. Like an algorithm miscalculation.
I played my weekend with him, but got replaced by TOTS Alisson. He is finally the Goalie that brings back memories of Neuer from FIFA 17 or 18 where he'd string together crazy saves. (put him on Cat chem and thank me later)
- Diving on Distance shots
- Saves with Feet trait is nice, but Alisson TOTS does same without the trait. He lays out his whole damn body!)
- Long Throw is amazing to start runs forward. Put Adama on the wing and you've got yourself a pairing
- Near Post!! He will not cover the angle even as the opponent shifts to angle it near post. He has a limit how far he will go, and is not fast enough to cover it manually
- Stiff and Slow. Doesn't have the loose look to him like a Yashin, Ter Stegen, or TOTS Alison. Even Lloris if shows signs of it.
- Still punches excessively instead of catching. TOTS Alison catches everything.
I think you can tell I'm frustrated I got this card instead of waiting for Alison, who came in so much cheaper than expected.
I got him for 2 reasons, first im a united fan and any sane person knows the season before this de gea was absolutely cracked. Secondly futmas de gea was really good for some people so if this was an upgrade why not get him. I loved him at first, i didnt care about the stupid goals cause that excitement when you get a new card is different, some of the saves he made we're absolutely mental, over time his stupidity annoyed me more and more cause he ruins my chances of getting objectives done. Soon after i played my third Weekend league on this fifa which was the Seri A tots, he was quite good he made decent saves and did quite well 75% of the time. I came in two weekends later (ultimate tots) and the guy was absolute shithousery, the guy played like he was keeping with his eyes closes. Granted he made saves not many keepers could, but some of the shit he did made me wanna take his card and slap it into a gold upgrade SBC. Ill give you an example: mo salah is on the left side of the pitch (given his 3* weak foot and de gea in goal it shouldnt go in right) guess again de gea with his mind in the clouds fails to catch the weakest shot on earth (mind you this was salah on the edge of the box) he pushes the ball back to salah and he gets it on his left foot, what happens next its a goal.
Can make mental saves when he wants to
The long throw trait is helpful
His diving ability (in free kicks only)
His positioning when the opponent is near post
His handeling (talking about the example given)
Concedes esay goals
Doesnt dive at the correct time
Ok this guy is so terrible that I had to create an account on futbin to right this review, English is not my main language so forgive my mistakes. This guy can't save anything, every single shot goes in, if you think this card is going do be a game changer I can garantee you that it is not. Do not spend your coins on this SBC.
sometimes he decides to make a good reflex save
allows long shots to go in
allows shots in the middle to go in
terrible in 1x1
terrible on closing the angle of the striker
I had the FUTmas De Gea, who I can safely say is the best goalkeeper I've used this game. When I saw this De Gea in SBCs I upgraded, putting the futmas one into the SBC. It was the worst decision I've made on any FIFA ever. This man cannot save anything. I've kept count, he conceded 19 goals to 23 Shots on target for me. These aren't sweats or incredible shots, these are shots that I clip, look back at and think 'how have you not saved that'.
Bottom line, don't bother getting this De Gea, you will regret it
Nothing to say here, if a goalkeeper concedes as much as him, there are no pros
He cannot save shots, Simple
I had FUT birtday pope but decided to get him and it was my biggest regret. THE MAN CANNOT SAVE SHOTS!!! HE AVERAGES ABOUT 2-3 SAVES A GAME!!!!
occasionally makes a decent save
everything really,
