Managed to pack this Card in my untradeable rivals rewards last week. Slotted him straight into my team at left centre mid in a 4-3-3(4) with Reus next to him at CAM and 88 Coutinho on Left Wing (Reus and Coutinho switch in game as Coutinho is a better CAM imo with Deco and Headliner Alli set to stay back) whilst Coutinho goes forward.
Overall he's a really good card! I think he's massively underrated for this fifa because he doesn't necessarily fit the meta of pace and power but he does a big job for me at left centre mid.
Pace - Overall pretty good. Not the quickest but if you really think you need pace from a holding centre mid then stick a hawk or engine on. With him set to stay back he stays put, occasionally makes a little forward run towards the edge of the box if prompted. Work rates are not a problem for him because his pace is enough to catch up to most players if he's tracking back. 7/10
Shooting - Same as pace, overall pretty good. Doesn't score that many from centre mid but he gets some goals from the edge of the box off corners or if he goes on a bit of a run forward to score in the box. Good enough base stats to get you goals should you play him more advanced at CAM but he does pinch them at Centre mid. only issue here really is 3* weak foot, he isn't terrible with his weak foot but it's noticeably much worse than his right foot. On his right you'll score 8/10 chances but on his left you're looking at maybe 4 or 5 out of 10 and even then, if he's under pressure from a defender and not in the clear it'd probably drop to 2 or 3. 7/10
Passing - This slightly edges dribbling as the best stat. It's basically just Deco isn't it? He was a master passer in real life and massively underrated for how he played and it's just how he is on the game, along the floor or over the top he's spot on more or less every single time. 93 vision is definitely noticeable as he picks out some passes that you don't even see, you think you're going to play an outside of the foot through ball out wide to the winger but he'll play an outrageous pass down the centre, through the defenders perfectly weighted for the winger to latch onto it. Guaranteed to get you assists 10/10
Dribbling - Similar to the passing, overall is just what the player is about. Quick on the ball, makes space easily to knock the pass onto players, ball sticks to his feet with the 94 ball control and 90 dribbling stats. He's only got 86 agility but it doesn't feel like he's not agile at all. He's definitely quicker than the stats would show. 88 composure is a massive bonus though definitely as he's able to keep the ball at his feet and play the pass when he's being shoved around by would be defenders/midfielders, plus he's got 4* skills. The only thing that really lets him down with the dribbling is he occasionally does this strange turn where he takes a huge touch and the ball gets away from him...almost like he's controlled a ball at high speed even if it isn't at high speed, but it's not that common, it's very annoying if you're about to turn and break though. 9/10
Defending - Not a defender. Wins balls back at deep midfield though, the 88 reactions means he latches onto loose balls fairly often. Don't expect big tackles out of him but he'll win you the ball in some instances. 4/10
Physical - Similar to defending, he isn't really a physical player so don't expect him to win a physical battle with anybody as it just isn't the type of player he is. Probably not ideal for defensive mid as you need physical players but my Centre backs are Base Ferdinand and Mid Koeman so it makes up for it if they do get past him. Stand out stat here is the 88 stamina. Lasts all game no problem plus change. 6/10
Overall I think he's the same in game as he is in real life, top passer, nippy and got a good finish on him. As far as Icons go i think he's up there as one of the better cheap midfielders you can get. He will get you assists and he will get you goals no doubt in my mind because he does it for me without issue. He isn't the best defensively so I'm probably not getting the best I could out of him where i'm playing him at the minute but it goes to show he's that good even in a position that isn't ideal. It's coming to that part of the year now where people are talking about End game teams and players and to be honest if somebody asked me "Is he end game?" I'd have to be honest and say no. But what I will say is for the price and position you'll get a player that is very nearly end game. Massively underrated Icon and the price tag shows it.
