Im not sure where to start doing this review honestly. First of all Torres is my childhood hero, and has been since I was a little kid watching him winning the Euros in 2008.
I was very gassed when I saw EA finally gave him an Icon, and cause of that I had to buy him as soon as possible. I had planned to buy his middle icon, but I just wanted him now, so I decided to buy his baby icon, despite not having great stats matching the price.
And well well well. The blond long haired spaniard is playing way above his "alright" stats. If you told me I was playing with his middle or prime icon, I would believe it since he is really that good. Everything he touches turns into goals somehow. He is running faster than every defender with a hunter card, and is banging goals with both feet and head. He is really everything you want in your striker.
I would say if you are just a normal fifa player who only think about value for money and stats, there might be better players on the market for the price. But if you like me LOVE Torres, then just forget his stats, and BUY him. I promise you Won´t regret it!
Ok, that's my first review so don't kill me if I'm not good enough at writing these kind of things.
I'm not english too, so there might be some gramatical errors.
Let's start:
PACE = Ngl he's not able to outrun most of the defenders in this game, but his pace combined with his body type allows him to get past the defenders the 80% of the times because of his strenght.
SHOOTING = He's a godly finisher with both feets and he has an incredible positioning, he's always at the right spot, his shot power sometimes may be an issue but if you shoot in the right direction it will always be goal because of his op composure, no cap.
DRIBBLING = He hasn't a godly dribbling, mainly because of his agility and his body type, he's 6'1'' and sometimes he might feels clunky and slow, but that 4* skills helps him a lot and allows to get past the defender if you're a good skiller, I recommend using the berbatov with him when he's near the net, I've scored at least half of his goals in this way.
PASSING = He's definitely not a good passer, use him as the main striker with a good passer behind him (I used Joao Felix with engine as cam). Obviously he's able to pass him at a near player, but do not try long passes or crosses if you don't want to give the ball to the opponent.
PHYSICALITY = He's just perfect, his stamina isn't as bad as it seems, he lasts until the second part of the ET for me. His strenght is something else as I said before and he ahs the perfect body type too, just brilliant.
DEFENDING= N/A
-Composure

-Strenght
-Bodytype (may be a con or a pro, it depends on your play style)

-He's el Niño Torres!
-Pace (it always depends on your play style, imo he's a decent pace but it could be better)
So, I got this card from icon pack and to be honest, I was so disappointed, since I thought it is going to be Butragueno. Either way, he went straight to my main squad. But now, after 38 games, I´m not happy to say that this guy is not that good as I thought he would be.
To be fair, in his first 10 games, I was very happy with him. His runs? 10/10. Shooting from anywhere? 10/10. (formation 4222). Than I switched to 4231 and he wasn´t that great as before. He missed easy chances, his runs weren´t that good anymore, felt slow with the ball.. So I thought he needs to be in a formation with 2 strikers.
So I switched to 41212 (2). Well....he still is not that good as before. Idk what is wrong with him. Maybe it is my problem, maybe I´m playing him badly, if yes, can you tell me how should I play him in the comments? Anyways, from time to time, he scores and absolute beauty from a long range, but my RB Talisca does the same every single game.
I know this review will get a lot of downvotes, since I said something bad about favourite (maybe) player of yours, but this is how I feel about him.
In detail:
Pace: Pretty decent. Nothing special. Feels kinda slow to be honest. He is not the fastest player, but not the slowest either.
Shooting: From the long range - solid shooting. From the close range - horrible. in 70% chances (that should be a clear goal) he shoots it to the keeper or wide. 91 composure my ass.
Dribbling: His dribblling is fine, I´m pretty satisfied with that. If you know how, you can get behind opponent´s defenders very easily with him.
Physicality: Not bad. It is hard for my opponent to get him out of the ball.
Passing: Who cares? Passing is shit in this game anyways.
Alright,So I am not going to say that Fernando Torres is my favorite player or anything like that but I do like him so I thought I should try him out and I bought him , I was quite surprised.
He is not the fastest player but with a hunter on he usually beats most defenders except for crappy Varane's and Mendy's.His shooting stats are obviously amazing and In game his shooting is real nice and his finesse shots almost always go in but one problem with this card is that sometimes he takes a bit of time to shoot even when the goal is right in front of him. He can score exceptional goals with both his legs (left and right)and for a tall player he does not dribble like an absolute bus like Trezeguet.
Anyways what I am trying to say is that he can score amazing goals but he also misses some easy chances but if you want an amazing striking partnership you can play a 4-1-2-1-2 and have torres as a right striker and have Raúl as your left striker and they both play off eachother very nice and clean. So,This torres is masterclass and I suggest you try him out because he is quite a good player for my team.
I bought him, because im Liverpool fan and i wanted to try him out. I didn't expected he's that good. Finishes everything, even from outside the box when he has 76 long shots, this stat is a lie. Also he has finesse shot trait which makes that even easier. He's not the fastest but easily outpaces like 3/4 of defenders. Dribbling is very good but don't expect Neymar's agility here. Passes are good for a striker, but not great. Weak foot is good, i scored some goals with it.
Look I will be honest with you, not the best card compared to the alternatives that are available. I got 'lucky' and packed him in my base icon pack. I gave him a go and played him striker in a 4231. With Messi, Felix POTM and Deulefeo as the cams. I am in division 1 on Xbox as well as finishing gold 1 most weekends so I will say I am an average to decent player. He is okay to say the least. His finishing is inconsistent and his shot power is quite bad. He is extremely lanky and his player makes it a little weird to play against. He reminded me of previous Suarez cards (the 97 rated tots). He sometimes scores from absolutely anywhere and mostly misses infront of goal if there isn't time to compose himself. I previously had mid Crespo and his record was 67 games, 83 goals and 24 assists. Torres right now has more games and half the amount of goal contributions. Instead of him I would much rather recommend buying Felix or inform rashford as they are around the same price. If an icon is needed go for mid suker and if a Spaniard is needed save up for baby butra. Overall i'd ask you to heed my advice and spend your money wisely. If he was tradeable he would be gone from my club without a doubt.
Can shoot from time to time
Has decent pace
Passing is okay (only close range)
Is tall enough to win a few headers
Inconsistent shooting - messes up in clutch scenarios
