TOTKS Firmino

Part II of our TOTKS review brings us to the aforementioned Roberto Firmino.  In the end, it was Bobby who would take the accolades in the goal scoring competition with Son this past weekend, registering 23 goals and 11 assists in 20 matches.  However, I have included the stats after 30 matches to show what a full Weekend League with the Liverpool man resulted in; full disclosure, one of the matches was in Division 1 Rivals.  All in all this card proved to be one of the most clinical finishers I have used, rivaling CR7 & R9 for sure.

Final Score

Final Rating: 9.6/10

This rating comes with some serious thought about what I am trying to get across with this card.  Even with HUNTER applied 91 ACCELERATION & 90 SPRINT SPEED is not going to blow anyone away.  97 POSITIONING & FINISHING mix well with 4 STAR WEAK FOOT but nothing that other strikers in the game do not possess.  Yet, there is something about this card and the way that the ball finds the back of the net that is forcing my hand with this rating.  There is something about using a clinical player that adds confidence while playing and Bobby Firmino was all of this and more for me this weekend.

Link-ability

Rating: 4.5/5

Liverpool connection is at work again and as more and more cards seem to be on the way with POTY Van Dijk and TOTS options this only grows stronger.  However, the Brazilian connections are also present and just as important when considering Firmino in a squad, there are endless options to make him fit.

End Game Strength & Value/Coins

EGS Rating: 4/5
V/C Rating: 5/5

9.6/10 Rating … yet only a 4/5 in End Game Strength?  The contradictory nature of those ratings is not lost on me.  Goals are always going to be key, and therefore I may be overlooking how long a player like Firmino can hold out against the bombardment of TOTS options.  Additionally, he offers other options, in my own experience and with just about every review of a Firmino card you get the “and he can play in the CM position too” response.  This card does have defensive abilities as well; the physicality to protect and win the ball; 94 STAMINA to work all game long; 89 DRIBBING to get out of tight situations, and 5’11 (181cm) with 85 JUMPING to win the ball in the air.  Yet, all too soon the shining blue lights of the Team of the Season celebration will commence and this card will be but a distant memory for most.  So, to end on a final note, at 240k you are far from wasting coins on this card and he can truly create a difference in the midfield or attacking areas of the pitch … if you use him, he will perform.

Uniqueness

Rating: 3.5/5

Unlike TOTKS Son, you cannot find an intricate statistics niche for Bobby Firmino to slide into and make him unique. Perhaps looking at players with similar stats shows you the Value/Coins rating of 5/5 is a good shout, but all in all, there are a lot of players that possess Firmino’s statistics.  The dynamic image is absolutely brilliant though, and the personalized dance just sums the Brazilian up perfectly.  However, when all is said and done he is a card that can slip away quite quickly and hopefully this review serves as a reminder that there are some fantastic players outside of TOTS and TOTY that can greatly improve your squad.

Good vs. Bad

Rating: 5/5

If you have read a word of this review you would have seen this rating coming from the start.  Yet, I actually think this is the best category to sum up this review.  Could Firmino have more pace, yes; would 5 STAR SKILLS & 5 STAR WEAK FOOT improve his quality, absolutely; but then ask… is there really a weakness at all in this card? Not at all.  It is the lack of any glaring weaknesses that make Firmino such a consistent and effective card.

Closing Words

I will keep this section short and sweet because it should be obvious by now that my feelings on this card are almost 100% positive.  Yet, even as I write this I can’t shake the niggling voice in the back of my mind telling me that Bobby Firmino may be in the EPL TOTS bench and completely crash the value of this card.  In terms of value, I am of course focused on coins and not on the quality of the card.  It is common knowledge that TOTS crashes a lot of the market regardless and this card will not be left out of the madness, but I do fear that a TOTS Firmino would cut this card for a significant loss on the current price.  On the other hand, this could be the best version of Bobby Firmino released all year and would be a huge asset to the majority of squads.  While I can’t predict the future, I can live in the present, and presently this is one of my favorite cards in the game; let me know if he works the same for you!  Cheers for reading!
