So ultimate tots is finally here and it is shit and the content wasnt the best yesterday but this guy came out and I had a heart attack for a sec.THE STATS THE STATS.First of all i played him with hawk chem style at st and OMG.he has that 4* combo I think and i have seen it from the shot that he bangs me that the 4*wf is a lie I almost thought that i was playing with r9 but r9 is not comparable. So lets start with the pace 10/10 he is fucking fast and i think he is so fast cuz of the dribbling he has and now that i said dribbling lets go to the dribbling review 10/10 he dribbling is better than messi no cap he makes 3 turns in 3 seconds he gets past the defends like there is now tomorrow.Shooting 10/10 i dont have much to say here just crazy shoot.Passing another 10/10 his just amazing at the passes that he makes.Defending N/A not much to say here u dont need the defending for a st.Physical 7/10 he is not the best when it comes to physical but his stamina is very good and with the hawk the aggression goes to 83 the strength isnt there but he will still fight for the ball.So I dont have more to say I spent around 300k (pc) because I did the 88 for free and at the 86 I spent around 50k and i had to spent my coins at the two 85 squads. Is it worth it?YES.In my opinion i think that if u want to do the sbc u should make at least the 88 squad for free but i dont think its a problem if u want to spent 500k on this beast.
After being super disappointed by the TOTS Lukaku, I was praying to finally have a TOTS like Dries Mertens... and oh boy how EA has finally delivered!
Scrambling all the fodder I could (yeah I'm one of the idiots who has done Lucas despite not having a PremL team...), I've managed to do him for around 100k and all the free TOTS cards and Reds (by the way, you guys are also packing reds that are never used in your WL team?).
What more to say than HE S DAMN AMAZINGLY GOOD!
I wished he'd be more expensive because given his price, I bet many many many people will do it.
I've used him in 17 WL games and he scored 18 goals and assisted 7 in ST position. My team is
Pace: 10/10 Body type and acceleration are a perfect match, he's a little rocket that will pop from one side of the pitch to the other while the animation freezes over the other skating players.
Shooting: 10/10 No 5-star weak foot? No problem, his right one is lethal and will more than often get in the goal (a lot with the assist from the goal pole). Finesse, long shots, power ones, try them all he's lethal!
Assist: 9/10 Nothing to say than pretty good.
Dribbling: 10/10 You love to use the right stick dribble? HAHAHAHAHA you're going to love it even more with Mertens, as a little devil dancing around the pitch, absolutely perfect.
Def: 5/10: Can get back occasionally to steal the ball, nothing else Messi would do.
Phys: 5/10 What do you expect? a Smart Brabus can Zigzag like crazy but of course will be crushed if frontally facing a truck, just avoid the frontal :-D
Conclusion: if you love Belgium, or super agile and fast players, if you wanna have fun again with this game, DO Dries Mertens Premium, for the first time in a few weeks, I've truly enjoyed WL again!
PS/ Here's the team I'm rocking with him:

fantastic speed and body type makes him perfect to accelerate
This is my first time writing a review, hope it helps.
I've been saving up my fodder for months, and this card finally convinced me to use it. First of all, I think the price of this card is fantastic. I did the sbc for ~30k coins, but I would be willing to pay 450k for this card. I used him as a striker in the 41212(2) but mainly as a CAM in the 4231. His pace (10/10) is great for a CAM, and especially with 99 acceleration he is able to quickly get away from defenders after turning. When he got through on goal, which happens often because he makes great runs as a CAM, he has enough pace to outrun TOTS center backs. His shooting (10/10) could also not be much better than it is. He finishes almost every chance that I would expect him to score. His 4* weak foot also feels much better than a 4* weak foot. He finishes most of his chances that I take with his left foot, and even scored a couple contested left foot shots from the edge of the box. I also have no complaints about his passing (10/10). I mainly use my CAM for short passes and through balls out wide, and he hits every pass perfectly. The dribbling(11/10) on this card is easily the best I have used so far in FIFA 20. He's so quick on the ball, and still felt pretty responsive in bad gameplay. The 4* skills is also very nice to have, although I don't uses skill moves a lot. There isn't much to say about his defending(4/10) because he's a forward, but he is able to win the ball sometimes when he is given the chance while my opponent is bringing the ball of their own half. Finally, the physical (8/10) on this card is much better than I had expected. I was expecting him to get destroyed anytime he was challenged by a defender because of his low strength, but I was surprised by his ability to hold onto the ball. The ball seems to stick to his feet, even when the defender makes a great challenge. It's one of those cards that can feel impossible to steal the ball from at times. His low strength was only a problem when he was challenged or being pushed while shooting. This would make his shot weak or innacurate sometimes. His stamina (90) does create an issue at the end of games occasionally, but its not really that big of a problem.
My overall opinion on this card is that it is fantastic value for the price. I think that this card would be around 800k+ if it were on the market. I have no regrets about using 80% of my fodder on him. I have a below average team for this stage of the game, and he took my team to the next level. If your on the fence about doing the sbc, I 100% recommend doing it.
I was previously using tots Jiminez at my St position and he was good but he was not very quick or agile and I decided I wanted someone at my ST who could weave in and out of players and someone with who was quick and responsive so that they could get out of tight positions, then I saw 95 Mertens. OMG, I got all of those things and more. He can finish practically anything, and he is so responsive, in my opinion he has much better finishing and dribbling than 95 Messi!
finishing/shootiing is unstopable
dribling is cracked
pace is very good
strength but doesn't really matter because can tun cirles around defenders before they get near him as his dribling is cracked and his pace is op
Hey guys! Yesterday great Mertens came out and I thought of spending all my untrades from over the last weeks to complete him. And now, after playing the first 10 Weekend League games with him, I am totally convinced by the power of this card. Before I'll explain the pros and cons, I just wanted to say that I played him as a left striker next to Son TOTS in a 4-2-2-2 formation with a basic chemistry style because I thought this would boost all necessary stats (Sprint Speed, Shot Power, bit of Passing/Dribbling and the strength).
Pace! With 99 Acceleration and 95 Sprint Speed, this guy is easily one of the best strikers if you have space e.g. in a counter attack
Shooting! Yes, he can be used as a striker because of his deadly finishing 98 and the shot power 96 with basic is also really good. He nearly scores every shot inside the box with his right foot.
Positioning! There is one stat (Attacking Position 99) that is completely underrated. If you are playing against a depth 1 player, it is not too hard to find the gap in the defence. He runs perfectly.
Passing! Yes, he really feels like one of the best CAMS even though I played him as a striker. If he drops back, his passes and his vision allows him to play the most important role in my attack.
Dribbling! Nothing but to say that this is the most agile player I have played in FIFA 20. I did not notice the 88 composure.
Weak Foot! Yes, on his card it says he has a 4 star weak foot but for me, this is more likely to be 3 star. Inside the box he did not finish well with his left foot, but with his dribbling he can turn to a good position for his right foot so this is not a big issue.
Physical! Of course, I didnt expect Mertens to be a powerful type of player. But you notice his strength very often and he feels kinda dead in extra time with his stamina.
This card is by far the worst investment and decision I've made in this game. I spent close to 300k on the SBCs and gave up many more valuable and reliable objectives players such as Joao Pedro for this dud. I put him in my weekend League team, made Witsel into a ST to fit Mertens in on 10 chem. I have never seen such a bad player at this level in FIFA. He missed at least 2 sitters in every game that a normal 85 rated player would slot home. He is weak on the ball, a horrific shooter whose weak foot is not more than 2*, terrible composure. I started him with Hawk chem and then after a string of horrible misses and utterly useless performances thought maybe it was the composure. Put sniper on him and no improvement. I immensely regret doing this SBC and am terribly dissapointed with this worthless card of one of my favorite players early in the game cycle. DO NOT DO IT!!!
