FIFA 23 SHOWDOWN: FODEN & CORREA, UPGRADES & FIXTURE INFO

The biggest game in club football is here and just like with the Europa League and Conference League finals, EA Sports have released a showdown card for each team.

Manchester City take on Inter Milan in Istanbul and representing the clubs are two very expensive cards. Hoping to take the trophy back to Manchester is the Stockport Iniesta, Phil Foden. Inter Milan are represented by Argentinian forward Joaquin Correa.

Both cards have the potential of a +2 upgrade so we’re going to have a quick run through of each item and how we think the game will play out.

Is the Phil Foden SBC Worth It?

No. Before we get into how good this card is we’re going to tell you it’s simply not worth it. The Foden SBC is coming in at over 650,000 coins and for an untradeable card at this stage of the game it’s just not worth it. The only exception I’d make is if you’re a City fan who runs a City team and has a lot of spare fodder but just like Gundogan’s showdown card we won’t be expecting many people to complete this. 

Is the Joaquin Correa SBC Worth It?

Again it’s a no from us. The Correa SBC is coming in at 350,000 coins which is just too much for a card that we don’t think will be getting upgraded. They may be different in terms of their style but Lukaku Moments comes in at way under half the price and is arguably a better card. Correa has the 5* skills but we can’t justify spending 350,000 coins on this card.

Manchester City vs Inter Milan Info and Predictions

This game kicks off on Saturday 10th June at 20:00 UK, Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul.

Inter Milan have won the Champions League more times than Manchester City have appeared in Champions League finals but history goes out of the window when it comes to this matchup. 

Manchester City showed us why they’re up there with the best teams ever as they eased past Real Madrid in the Semi Final. To top this off they’ve just beaten local rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup Final which will give them massive amounts of confidence heading into Istanbul. Inter Milan played their local rivals AC in the Semi Final and looked to have the game wrapped up from the first leg. 

It’s going to be defence against attack but we can only see one outcome. Manchester City winning the Champions League and completing the treble. If the final is anything like the semis then we can’t wait, it’s going to be a cracker.

We simulated the Champions League final 10 times to see the outcome on FIFA 23. Just like our predictions, FIFA only had one outcome. Manchester City came out on top in 7 of the 10 games with Inter winning on 3 occasions. We agree with FIFA here but it looks like if Inter can do the job it’s going to be a 2-1 win!

How Do Showdown SBCs Work?

A Showdown SBC consists of 2 SBCs featuring players from teams from an upcoming big fixture - in this case, Manchester City and Inter Milan

You can choose to complete either or both of these however the upgrades are based on the result of the upcoming fixture. 

Usually showdown cards offer upgrades based on 90 minutes even if a team goes on to win in extra time or on penalties but as we saw with Montiel in the Europa League final, whoever lifts the trophy will get the +2.
